Regardless if you despise AI art or not, people have been "stealing" FCs and other images for roleplay for God knows how long. In the context of roleplaying and nothing else, if people have been fine with taking random images off the internet for their roleplay characters or scenery, then drawing the line in the sand at AI art for roleplay purposes sounds somewhat hypocritical. That said, most AI art is awful compared to the real thing. It saves you time that you would've spent looking for the perfect picture, yes. But you also get fucked up hands and broken bones a lot of the time. And with anime art in particular, a lot of it is same-ish, same shading, same style, etc. It all looks so much alike to where I rather just use regular, human-made art than AI art.
