So, since my abrupt and unexpected leave from RPG, and my subsequent return, I've had a number of RP ideas; one of which I hope gains traction on here. Essentially, I imagine a Nation RP that is set in Arkham City, (of the Batman: Arkham games fame) where each RPer would play a criminal or supercriminal incarcerated in the city, and would form their own themed gang and vie for territory and control of the lawless city-prison. They would do so through brute force, or sabotage of other gangs, or maybe by systematically taking control of trade; but in all cases, they have to build from the ground up, protect their villain character from TYGER (the city/prison guard) and stay on Warden Strange's good side. There could even be TYGER or Gotham Police factions for good-doers who want to RP. Here are some of my ideas on the mechanics of the RP: RPers take control of a crimelord, or supervillain, and are given a portion of Arkham City out of which to operate. They are also given a measure of starting henchmen, equipment, weapons, and funds. The object is to increase these stats as much as possible, but that can affect the other resources you have. i.e., fighting another rival gang for territory can take shots to your men and weapons. The idea is to be strategic with what you choose to expand when, and with whom. And the overall idea is not to turn the RP into a boardgame, so each post would be mostly from the perspectives of the crimelord and his higher ups. Gang wars for territory can be fought either bird's eye view or from the eyes of the fighters; all with mod supervision of course. Alliances and trade would be RPed from the perspective of the representatives. But, in addition, the actual stats and resources of each player will be kept and updated as the RPing continues. I.E.
I'm working on an example post that will go here
But I'm totally open to thoughts and ideas; So if, perchance, you'd be in support of this project, or have any ideas, suggestions, or questions: please let me know! Thanks!
