I was wondering, Fading, if you had something in mind for the ring Audrey acquired. Unlike many of the others, she immediately put it away, and Eckehart probably didn't even see it, but I figured I'd ask.
[s]It's The One Ring, forged in the fires of Mount Doom by the dread lord of the Lidless Eye and the supreme dominator of all minds. By wearing it, you become the biggest target in existence, invisible, and also tempted to dominate the minds of others- but ultimately it will betray you and bring you to ruin as it seeks to return to the hand of Sauron, from which it was cut by Isildur, the son of Elendil, heir of Numenor in the witness of Elrond Halfelven, heir to Luthien Tinuviel, lover of Beren, of whom the light of the silmaril passed through the ages and into the hands of Frodo, son of Drogo, at the gifting of Galadriel.[/s] Eckehart didn't get to see it, which is why he didn't elaborate on it in the post, but my off-the-cuff thoughts when I read it was that since it was a horn ring that it was a token of status and honor, the gold of it signifying a being of high stature to those bovine-esque folk. It won't dent or scratch under mundane means as far as she can tell, if for whatever reason she decides to try whacking things with it. Doesn't make sense for an accessory on a horned folk to not be made of sturdy stuff.
