Having made a stop by his base to collect lunch, Zachary walked to the supermarket he had visited yesterday. Munching on the dry yet nutritious military grade rations, he pondered what might happen there. Would the conduit he had encountered before still be there? If so, would that conduit stay away or seek revenge? Last time had been inside at evening, but this time would be outside just after noon. How much of a difference would that make? If things turn sour you could bash its skull in for good this time. "That place has gone well beyond sour," Zachary joked. This got a laugh out of Kaa'is. Soon they were there. Out in what had once been a plaza with some carriage parking, Zachary could faintly smell the rotten sludge that was inside the supermarket with its broken-down wall. Looking into the shadows, he caught just a flash of reflected sunlight off a pair of eyes and a hint of movement in the darkness. Zachary drew his wind cannon and held it, not as if he was going to fire it but so it was clearly visible to the beast inside the supermarket. He heard a hiss and a patch of darkness moved deeper into the building. He won't be bothering us for a while, said Kaa'is. "Indeed," Zachary replied, grabbing a trolley from the trolley bay and walking off with it back to the carriage heap.
