Background: As a kid, Wren was rather sickly. He had respiratory issues and regularly had fevers that left him in bed often. When he could, he tried his best to play with the other kids of Snowpoint but his weak physique made it hard to keep up. He ended up playing with a Snowrunt that wandered around his house and became fast friends.

When Wren was 11, it became clear that the Snowpoint climate was negatively affecting Wren's condition. His parents decided to move them to Twinleaf Town in hopes that the change in environment would be beneficial to his health. Unbeknownst to them, the Snowrunt Wren had played with had become pretty attached to him and followed them to their new home.

The new climate did have an effect but recovery was slow. By the time most kids would start their Pokemon journies, Wren's frequent fevers had pretty much subsided completely. Still, though, his constitution was less than reliable. It took another couple of years and developments in his treatment before he was deemed healthy enough to set out on his own. With Powder, his longtime Snowrunt friend by his side [s]and a lot of persistent convincing of his mother[/s], Wren finally set out. And he has stalwart need to catch up on lost time.
