Maverick Maddison Maximiliano Majere

Location: Sir Clausewitz' School for the Militarily Minded
Maverick felt like a bag of hammered shit, assuming that shit, the hammer, or the bag could feel. Mainly, he wanted to actually make friends. However, it seemed his quest spun him in the wrong light. Either that or he was too pressured by the missions. It was due to the fact that out of hundreds of thousands of quests he completed zero. He let out a sigh as he recalled the retribution that the gods would soon shove into his daily life. His thoughts seemed to swirl into a cornucopia of tortures they may have lined up. The thought made him turn pale. As if the waiting was worse than the actual event. His emotions were hard to control as he was so young and his body's chemicals took over sometimes. They drove for what seemed like forever but he could recall the words of everyone there. He couldn’t help smiling as sadness spread across his face. “Always smile. Be the good broken son. The family black sheep. I’m sure my family has already gotten news about this event and will take action.” He paused talking outloud to himself and noted that Gideon was watching him in the rearview mirror. “Who knows Gideon? Maybe after this family interaction I will be looking for somewhere new to live. I used the family name like an idiot and my actions were unbecoming of a Majere. At this point I can’t seem to think of anything good coming from it except for freedom.” He opened up to Gideon as he sat with a smile on his face. He looked at nothing in particular out the window. This was assuming that his family didn’t do anything outside of what he thought. If the Drake family was present it could double down on the punishment or cause him different difficulties. After a few moments he was at school. His uniform was cleaned up and he stood at attention. His eyes seem to be distant as he wasn’t focused on school at this moment. Luckily his Chief of Staff Sir Gideon Glover had phoned ahead informing the school that he would be running late. The excuse was to procure books for the military minded. A partial truth which made it even stranger when he started walking down the halls. Maverick went to class and droned about waiting for the gods to mess with him. It was a surprise that they didn’t do anything as of yet. He knew that when he let his guard down they would hit him with full force. Thankfully, his classes were interesting and allowed him to gain some knowledge on battlefield tactics. However, it annoyed him because of how wars weren’t really a big thing for this kingdom or world. As if they were just waiting for the shit to hit the cosmic fan. Maverick only tried to absorb the information and adapt it to his mindset. His hololens was on and recording the information just in case he forgot something with his current mental state. Mav wanted to be exhausted to the point where he would break. Therefore, he made his way to the school's track. He took out several Kettlebells and started manipulating his gravitational fields around each one. Seven in total weighing in at 50 lbs or 22.6796kg. He also wore a vest, ankle, and wrist weights. He manipulated the gravitational field around each weight as he ran. He pushed himself for hours until he was running on fumes. Actually fumes would have been nice. Then again he did not want to not think. Perhaps this was in the deitie’s plans just to mess with him more. However, he stopped caring. In the end, he dropped his weights and peeled off his vest. Velcro straps “skriched” as each was pulled off. Salt crystals had formed from his sweat and lined where the vest was. His uniform was not up to par at this point and he didn’t smell great. Once he was finished he moved the weights back to where they went. Doing so made loud metallic noises as they hit. He felt anxious as he hadn’t received any repercussions from the failed quest. Mav felt from previous experiences that they would hit him when he let his guard down. In his daze he bumped into a few students on the way to the shower. He didn’t even have the energy to apologize and it would probably be seen as a weakness anyways. A few students scoffed, others laughed, and some punched him. Not too hard, just hard enough to jostle him from his path. It didn’t take long for him to get into the showers. Afterward, he picked his favorite stall and started his shower. It was cold and quick. Something that he hoped would help him think. It only made him think too much and he ended up having a panic attack. As if from the darkness Sir Gideon Glover moved next to him with a paper bag. He thanked Gideon as he took it and started focusing on his breathing. “Why didn’t he just relax and take a hot shower?” He thought out loud as he looked around. Then he noticed something in his “quest log.” The mission itself was listed as one in progress and unfinished. He stopped breathing into the bag and tapped on the air. The quest lit up and opened in front of him. Gideon knew at this point not to ask questions and took the bag. Then he placed a massive towel over the young man. He made sure to make it not get in his line of sight as it causes outbursts. The mission stated that it was still in progress. That a few factors had been completed but another had not. What it did mention was the wording on each. That he had to meet said person as part of it. The next separate part stated that he needed to befriend them. Incomplete. Furthermore, the quest said it was partially finished and rewards could be collected now. However, if the full quest was complete then better rewards would be handed out. Mav took the corner of the towel and wiped his body. He glanced at the quest and couldn’t believe what he was reading. These gods didn’t want him to give up on the quest. To actually befriend someone like her. He rolled his eyes and dried off. This would be the first mission he had ever completed if he turned it in now. It didn’t matter to him if it was partial or full. He just wanted one win under his belt. His finger went to accept the quest completion. Then wavers. His mind goes back to the events of the Library and sighs as he clicks accept. Congratulations! A fanfare message appeared for his first completed mission. Rewards will be calculated. Please complete your next 4 missions in order to get the rewards. ‘What the hell was this?! Everytime he failed a mission they always hit him with the downside. Now that he won one they couldn’t even give him anything?’ Maverick thought as his face started to redden in anger. “This is some bull-s!” Mav started to yell. “Sir, people are starting to watch.” Gideon interrupted and informed Mav as he looked around. “Right. Thank you Chief of Staff Sir Gideon.” Maverick thanked Gideon as he moved out of the changing room. The day seemed to have flown by as he noticed it was really late. He clocked his hours for class and the training session. This was done at either the receptionist or could be reported to the Council members. However, he had never met the council members so he didn’t know where to go. The receptionist only nodded and took the information. When he finished he looked at his phone and noticed that he had one missed call and a message. The call was from his father. ‘Was this his real punishment for not going through with the full mission?’ He thought to himself as he read the message. To Maverick Maddison Maximiliano Majere, Given recent events your presence is requested. Please show up to the family home within a day. From, Marduk Mack Marcus Majere ‘No love. Always Business.’ Mav thought as he sighed. “Let us go to the family home.” Mav mentioned as he got into his vehicle. Of course it was in the back. He tossed his belongings in the passenger side back seat and buckled up. Gideon didn’t even make a noise. Just nodded and started driving. More people seemed to be coming out during the late evening than normal. It could be because the weather has been nice but he didn’t know for sure. Maverick was still surprised that he finished a mission but was worried about his father’s words.
