She doesn’t appear to have any, but water still responds to her, even though she denies using any abilities. Personality - Emerie has zero chill. She’s chaotic and annoying, sometimes becoming abusive and abrasive. The only real way to get her to chill is to sedate her if you can get close enough to do so without getting injured by her antics, as she has a relative fear of needles and will harm anybody who comes at her with one. As well as her chaotic nature, everything is a game to Emerie- and I mean [i]everything[/i] Looks - When not in the water, Emerie appears as a regular human girl with tan skin that never seems to burn, even when exposed to flames. She has straight long brown hair that sometimes has streaks of blonde depending on how long it’s been since she’s been in the water. On land, she wears olive green shorts and a sky blue T-shirt, but never shoes or socks. Well, she wears one sock, on her right foot. This sock covers tiny cuts that are scattered around her ankle and lower leg area. When she’s in water, or water has gotten on her, she bears a sleek golden-scaled mermaid tail. When in her mermaid form, she wears a rather childish ruffled pink bathing suit top, even though it's clear she doesn't mind how childish the top is. Weapon/s Of Choice - Emerie’s only weapon is being an absolute pain in the ass.(pardon the profanity but it’s accurate) And a knife she stole from the scientists that nobody except her knows about, but that’s for when she finally decides to escape if she chooses to. Strengths - Emerie’s annoying personality means that she can get what she wants. The memories of her brother mean that she will not let her spirit be crushed by any of the experiments, and she treats them like games; this means that she often defeats the objective of researchers before they can even identify how while having them play right into her hands. Weaknesses - If somebody can get close enough to tie her ankles together, she cannot form her tail. This poses a danger to her when in water. However, if her wrists are tied together, she is completely unaffected. Each time that Emerie almost escapes, security questions her and she willingly shares the exact way she escaped. This means that, due to her inability to defeat the truth serum used while interrogating her, escape becomes closer and closer to being impossible. Her favorite game is the maze that slowly submersed itself, surprisingly. You'll meet that later if we get there. >:} Short Backstory - Emerie was sold by her parents when she was 5. Not much is known about her past life except that she had a brother named Ivan Merriam. She's one of the longest surviving merfolk at the facility, having been there for ten straight years and attempting escape multiple times. Her first few years at the facility were spent alone, being studied behind bars. But after a while, a few scientists decided to give her a change in environment and allow her to engage more with others on occasion. The positive changes in her behavior this brought eventually got her to her current situation; she currently is housed in a forever-guarded enclosure with a small pool in the corner where she can entertain herself. The guard's face is familiar to her, but she is unable to place it due to her memory being wiped upon arrival, even though there was a malfunction and she didn't lose everything. Now she just plays games with researchers, providing inaccurate results and sometimes even sabotaging experiments. They used to punish her, but they've given up. The only reason she hasn't been terminated is that the results she provides are too curious to give up and show a level of maturity rising then declining again depending on her mood.
