She didn’t come across that often. She had never heard of a deity named Homura. However, she as a dwarf and was not particularly knowledgeable about other races gods and goddesses. She took another long pull from the bottle before letting out a deep sigh. “I am grateful to have found this tavern. My travels were fraught with their own pitfalls.” She took another drink before launching into her tale. “I was performing my duties to my goddess by traveling to the smaller dwarven villages. During the early planting season, her priestesses are traveling to bless crops for a bountiful harvest and the residents with fertility. Then during the harvest season, we come back through and collect the goddesses share for the temple.” She took another pull off the bottle and her cheeks were slowly gaining some reddish color. She gets more animated as she tells her tale. Her hands gestures are becoming bigger and wilder. “I was traveling along the Gnoll River towards the next village when I was caught out by a surprise spring thunderstorm. The storm caused the river to jump its banks. That forced me to travel away from the river. I was almost caught in the flooding. I finally made it high enough in some foothills and found a cave to ride out the storm.” She took a deep breath before taking another pull on the bottle. “The next morning I climbed to the top of the hill and the flood had wiped out the bridge. I had to find a new place to cross the river. It is not like dwarves can swim you know. We just sink, like rocks. Water is not our friends.” She shook her head sadly before taking yet another drink. “The next few days were creepy forests filled with mists. I was completely turned around. I have never seen terrain like that before. Then I found this tavern. I have no clue where I am.” She hiccupped and covered her mouth as she laughed. “Sorry about that. Can you tell me where I am or how to get back to the dwarven lands?”
