- While out fishing, YC runs into a wolf.  They could just be roaming/hunting or, if the spot is productive enough, ends up being saved from a bear or other predators by it.  The beast is large, unafraid of humans despite keeping a distance, but doesn't stay.  Later, the same wounds are found on a strange new bartender in the town who drifted in not long ago. 

- Rumors have swirled for years about government experiments, but a young soldier/veteran finds themselves in an odd situation when they become the handler of one.
