Gotcha, in that case I've had a look and I don't think the character is a particularly good fit for the setting, would prefer something a little more in-line with the theme and setting.

[@Guardian Angel Haruki] Yeah, my bad, I completely missed that they were in the book as well as Wild Beyond the Witchlight, carry on :D.

In terms of languages, I'd certainly recommend Dwarven as a good language to take in this area, and I'd also say Reghedjic (spoken by the Reghed barbarians of Icewind Dale).  If you wanted to get a bit more exotic with your choice, you could also take Jotun (Giant).
