”I’m not helping you here, Trist. Lyd’s an adult, she can wear whatever she wants. I’ve worn enough crop tops in my time to not be on your side of the argument,” She then pours some gin, albeit less than Lydia was pouring for herself, into a fresh cup and gives it to Lydia. ”She’s 21, let the poor girl have a drink,” She then turns to Lydia as she hands her the cup and gives her a wink and a smile. ”And how are you, hun?” The dark haired male sighed. “Not the help I was expecting.” More so mumbling to himself than talking to either of the older females outloud. As much as he wanted his little sister to avoid the hard-stuff, it seemed like Catherine wasn’t going to help him with that either. “Who’s side are you on?” Asking her teasingly. He then took another look at his sister’s attire; shaking his head. “She might be 21, but I still think she should change her outfit. Not to mention crop tops are entirely too different to…this” gesturing to Lydia’s revealing dress. “Not to mention, this is the hard stuff.” Motioning to the drink in her hands. Lydia smirked a little bit, knowing that she had her friend in her corner. “Sorry bro, Cat’s on my side.” It was just something her brother would have to get used to. Girls sticking together. As Cat filled her a fresh cup of gin, she gave her a thankful warm smile. Filling it up with some tonic, before her brother could snatch that one away from her too. If Tristan had it his way, he’d have her drinking Orange juice. “Chill, not like I am drinking Absinthe.” Lydia was way too casual about her choice of drink, and how much she would have preferred more gin in her cup. But this would do for now. Taking a sip of her drink. “Much better now I can enjoy a little drink and see you’re back in town. I missed you.” Even though she had other friends in Tanner to keep her occupied, Lydia still missed Cat and their ‘time’ together; especially as Cat let her get away with a few things that Tristan did not. Maybe it was a girl thing. But Catherine certainly always understood Lydia in ways her brothers did not. Guess the same went for any of her female friends. “I hope you don’t have any plans for the next few weeks?” Lydia questioned, with a warm smile. “You must come to dinner soon. Everyone would love to see you again.” Not knowing that her brother had already somewhat invited her already. At Tristan’s questioning of whose side she was on Cat looked between him and his sister and raised an eyebrow. "Who do you think? Maybe I'll wear it next time, grandpa," Catherine jests in return. Truly Lydia and Cat had very differing styles, she wouldn’t really wear anything like it but the idea might stifle a laugh from her friends. She took a sip of her own drink as the siblings bickered, always at ends they were. At the offer for dinner Cat nodded ”Of course, would love to. And we need to catch up too, of course," She decided not to admit that it was her second offer of the day, she was sure Tristan would say something anyway Maybe a small part of him was hoping that Catherine would be on his side. But clearly not. “I know, I know…you girls stick together.” He huffed. His eyes going a bit wide when Catherine teased him about wearing Lydia’s dress. Trying not to look like an idiot; as he found himself staring a bit in shock and surprise. Admittedly, he imagined what she might look like wearing Lydia’s dress. The thought distracted him for a few moments. With a shake of his head, he focused his attention on his sister. “Don’t even think about it, missy!” He warned as she mentioned Absinthe. “I don’t need you seeing triple at this party, if you drink that poison.” Lydia rose an eyebrow, as her brother seemingly got distracted at the comment about Catherine wearing her dress. “You’re always welcome to borrow it, if you’d like.” Lydia offered her with a smile. Often sharing a few outfits with friends of hers. Catherine was one of those friends. Though she meant it, it was mainly meant to tease her big brother. Shaking her head at her brother’s comment. “I swear, you’re such a party pooper. Loosen up a little, old man.” Playfully nudging him, before she took another sip of her drink. Smiling as Catherine accepted her offer. “Great. I’ll ask mom to cook us our favorite.” Nodding at the idea of catching up. She was sure they had plenty to catch up on. Rolling his eyes as Lydia called him a party pooper. “I am fun, I’ll have you know.” Mumbling slightly under his breathe. Much to his surprise, Lydia invited Catherine to dinner. “You do realize, I already invited her to dinner earlier, right?” Tristan spoke with a raised eyebrow as he looked at his little sister. Lydia looked at her brother, her eyebrow raising back at him. In almost a mocking like expression. “Sure you did.” Not fully believing him. Knowing him full well to know his invitations to dinner were always half-assed. Trying not to laugh as he almost whined at her, saying that he did. “I am not disputing you Trist. I am sure you did.” She giggled, as her tone of voice was still sassy as day. “But knowing you as well as I do, I’ve taken the liberty of inviting Cat over properly.” Tristan huffed, as a slight glare crossed his face. “I swear, it must be pick on Tristan day or something.” His sister’s sassiness getting to him. Especially as she made the comment about inviting Catherine over properly. As Tristan's eyes rested on her in, was it shock? After Tristan's eyes had rested on Catherine for a moment too long for her liking she clears her throat. ”I'm kidding, T," she clarifies in a soft voice. As the pair fought, Catherine couldn't help but roll her eyes, it seemed that the pair were so focused on her that they had forgotten about her presence right before them. ”Let's split the difference, Trist invited me first, Lydia was the first to say the words. Happy?" she offers taking another sip from her cup. As Catherine cleared her throat, Tristan caught onto her discomfort from him gazing at her too long. Slightly averting his gaze; not wanting to be off putting. Chuckling a little nervously “Good one, Cat.” Trying to laugh off the moment. But mentally slapped himself. What on earth was he doing? He truly had no idea. Feeling all kind of out of sorts. Definitely wasn’t his smoothest moves. As always the pair of Pearson siblings seemed to get absorbed into their little bickering. Typical big brother vee little sister moment. True, they might have fought like cats and dogs at times, but they did have a love for each other. Lydia giving Cat an apologetic look, when her friend cleared her throat. Mouthing ‘Sorry’ Not meaning to forget she was there with them in the room. “I can settle for that.” Hearing Cat trying to come up with a compromise over whom invited her first to dinner. Tristan gave a slight shrug. “Mhh, I guess that’s as good as it can get.” No doubt, his little sister would always remind him that he needed to get better at inviting people over properly. ”Well, I don’t have any plans and my job’s pretty flexible so if you can put aside your bickering long enough to figure out a date just let me know,” Catherine finishes her drink and bangs her cup on the table. ”Now, I’m going to go say hi to some people, but it was good to see you both again,” With that Catherine walks deeper into the crowd of party goers, leaving the siblings to their devices.
