[u][b][color=ed1c24]Personality:[/color][/b][/u] On the surface, Raion appears to be a cheerful and charismatic individual, but some notice that his smile never quite reaches his eyes. Due to a rough upbringing, Raion learned from an early age how to mask his true emotions and never let people get a good read on him. This emotional barrier often gives him the appearance of a cold and distant individual to most people. Despite this conception, the few people who've been able to get through to the young man have observed this is a kind and caring heart underneath his cold exterior. Seeing his emotional side his rare as he fears opening up too much would leave him being hurt again. The few times Raion will let his guard down are when he's around people he trusts (which is a short list), and when he's engaging in his two primary passions: Martial Arts and Video Games.
[u][b][color=ed1c24]Backstory:[/color][/b][/u] Hailing from a rural town, Raion is a fish out of water in the city. His parents divorced when he was young, and Raion's mother uprooted him and his younger sister Aiko from their hometown in order to get away from their dad. Shortly after moving, Mrs. Akiyama's required her to be away from home more often than not, leaving Raion as Aiko's sole caretaker. These two events ultimately became the source for Raion's 'distant' persona as he resents his mom for forcing them into a life he didn't want and dropping extra responsibilities on them by not being around. The only things that helped to curb Raion's frustrations are his Aikido training - his sensei being a father figure to him - and playing video games with Aiko. In fact, it was Aiko that got Raion into playing Digimon: Tamers World with the two of them eagerly awaiting Emergence when it first launched. As of now, Aiko has moved on from the game (having decided playing video games as 'nerdy') leaving Raion to play it by himself, as well as a few friends from his Aikido Club.
