Why not simply Historical Fiction? Like Ellis Peter's Brother Cadfael series, but with magic. Or.. hmm. This is a bit of a stretch - but what about a wizard who is stranded in an alternate medieval world that has no magic? Who survives based on his scientific training that the people around him call magic while he denies it? That would be considered science fantasy.
