My whole life I've been told "your daughter is going to be just like you." I don't have any kids, and for the longest time I didn't think I wanted any - but what would be so wrong with having a child like me? With my eyes and wild hair and love for life? "Your daughter is going to be just like you." No. She'll be raised in a home full of love, and she'll never know what it feels like to only have to rely on yourself. Her hobbies and interests will be supported - her questions answered. I can't wait to see what multiple generations of women in my family would have been like if we had had the right support.
