She had long grown used to the early Alaskan sunrise, having grown up with longer sunlit days than the rest of the country. With the family business often requiring early wake-up calls as well, it would've likely taken something akin to a miracle for her to not be up and ready for whatever came that day. That said, Suzie would've much preferred a cup of cowboy coffee over a mug of tea. As Suzie reached out to shake Alyssa's hand, an uncomfortable smile curled its way upon her lips. S-u-z-a-n-n-a. It had been her actual name, so the girl hadn't been in the wrong to use it. Yet regardless, the word itself was like tiny knives, each letter stabbing Suzie in the heart. It was old-fashioned, and made her feel ancient, as if she was an elderly woman from the 50's or some other long-forgotten decade. Which, to be fair, was probably because it had been her great-grandmother's name in the first place. She may have loved her great-grandmother dearly, but the name Suzanna definitely should've stayed a name of the past. "Suzie. Or Suz." Suzie replied, perhaps a bit curtly. She had held every ounce of willpower in to not make a big scene, hoping to avoid the wrath of their team representatives."Suzanna was my great-grandmother's name. Suffice to say, I'm not her." Suzie sighed. She was going to have to correct everyone she met, wasn't she? It had been all thanks to A-Aron over there, her brand new "team representative" as per her H.E.A.T. enrollment. "That being said, I guess I just felt there were places I could do better." She continued. "With everything that has happened." It may have only been a gut feeling as of now, but the feeling was there nonetheless. Suzie had no interest in the H.E.A.T. program, at least originally. She simply wanted to continue her studies at Pacific Royal as they were. But then Hyperion attacked the school, and people either got hurt or lost their lives. She hadn't a bone to pick with Hyperion, but the incident had awoke something inside Suzie. Old memories resurfaced, and [abbr=See Suzie's sheet.]the nightmare[/abbr] forced itself back into her head. She may have not been able to help her family that day, but she could at least help stop similar loss from ever happening again by assisting H.E.A.T. in their mission. By then, however, the prior uncomfortableness Suzie felt had faded. She may have been slighted just moments ago, but Alyssa had unknowingly walked into a trap as she spoke of training. Playfully teasing her would be fun. "Though, I can't imagine needing a practical environment to talk to animals. I already hear plenty of dirty secrets from them on the regular. Some of it is absolutely bewildering, you know?" Suzie grinned mischievously, waiting to see what her teammate's reaction would be.
