She stands fairly tall at 5'8", but otherwise her build is rather soft-looking, which is surprising for a valkyrie. She has fair skin, and the color of her eyes is a vibrant green. Sarah often wears a sullen face, however - and she always has dark circles underneath her eyes; probably the result of an overactive and unwearying mind. In her battle suit, her midriff and chest are exposed, and her skirt draws shorter. It also includes extended rods along her back and a diamond crown on her head. It's surface is mostly a polished black, with a few deep red embellishments. This cross helps Sarah concentrate her psychic powers into projectiles and beams that are effective at long range. These attacks are unaspected with elemental damage, but the sheer force of their kinetic strikes can leave her targets bleeding profusely. [u]Drain Strength:[/u] After applying bleed to a target, that target's Power stat is reduced by one rank for two rounds, but only when they attack Sarah. [b]Honkai Arts:[/b] [b]Bleed:[/b] B [b]Time Fracture:[/b] C [2 uses/battle] (2 points) [b]Honkai Sensing:[/b] E [b]Psychic Constructs:[/b] B (4 points) - Sarah can concentrate her telekinesis to create translucent objects of force. They are somewhat similar to the projectiles she normally attacks with, but these constructs have a defined shape and are longer lasting. They aren't more powerful than her standard attacks, but they can be of great utility if used intelligently. Typical uses include creating temporary weapons which can deliver her force attacks more conveniently at melee range, providing cover, or using constructed limbs to otherwise assist her mobility. This art does have its trade-offs. If Sarah is concentrating on three or more constructs, she's no longer able to use her telekinesis or projectiles normally due to the effort. [b]Battlesuit:[/b] [color=ec008c]Archon Mind[/color] [b]Features:[/b] Communications, GPS, Subspace Storage, and sensors to measure Honkai Miasma. Time Fracture ability. It can also release dense gases from various apertures. Having convenient matter to shape and work with like this help Sarah make her constructs more durable. The gas is what produces most of the construct's color, even allowing her creations to become opaque. Unshaped, the gas can obscure a short ranged area, but is otherwise harmless. The suit is fairly revealing, like most, but it has a series of rods protruding in different areas. These rods are covered in arcane symbols. On her head sits a crownlike circlet with a perfect diamond in the middle. These implements were devised by the World Serpent after reviewing ancient materials on how to amplify psychic power. [b]Burst:[/b] [color=ec008c]Psionic Body[/color] Rank: E Duration: 2 Rounds Modifier Points: 2 points Effect: This burst removes the Archon Mind's inhibitor functions, allowing unrestricted flow of Honkai energy and Psychic power. It does not boost any of her stats. Instead, Sarah uses the additional energy to create a special construct body all around her. This outer layer is extremely hard and protects her from all angles. For a few seconds, Sarah may use her Intellect rather than her Endurance to contest attacks against her. This ability does not grant any additional HP, nor does it protect against Honkai Corruption. [b]Psionics:[/b] Sarah is one of the gifted few who naturally developed psychic powers. Her primary strength is telekinesis. She is quite frail for a valkyrie, but her preternatural powers make up for it. Even unaided, she can lift and manipulate impressive weights with only her mind. Most honkai and valkyrie are too resistant to psionics for her to manipulate or crush directly, however. That's why her style revolves around powerful force projectiles. Still, she is amazingly talented in this respect; combining her telekinesis with honkai manipulation is really what allows her to be a valkyrie. She can move her own body around like a toy with psychic effort. The reason her speed is so impressive is because she regularly augments it with this invisible force -- that technique makes her one of the most maneuverable airborne valkyries in her class. Sarah is also capable of remote viewing. She can scry on distant locations by focusing and shutting out her own sensory input. But if the place is nearby, this ability doesn't require so much exclusive attention. [b]Skills:[/b] Apart from being a marvelously talented psychic valkyrie, Sarah is a cunning tactician. She knows how to direct troops and how to execute a plan in the heat of battle. She was one of the top students in her class, so she's generally very informed and capable of adapting. She's good with computers, too, although she isn't a genius in that department or anything. Perhaps more uniquely, she has some degree of knowledge about ancient history due to her studies with World Serpent. She can recognize and translate ancient symbols. She might even be able to interface with surviving technological remnants, if given time. [b]Gear:[/b] Sarah carries a number of small explosives in dimensional storage. When she was experimenting with her psychic powers in combat, they were one of her first ideas. She could place the bombs easily with her telekinesis, and then set them off remotely. These days she is much more capable with direct psychic attacks, but she still makes use of the small bombs for tactical purposes like zoning her targets, manipulating the environment, or creating distractions. She travels fairly light otherwise. She carries a small laptop with various connectors, earbuds, and basic survival equipment. She also keeps a reference book on ancient civilization, and a small care package of beauty supplies. [b]Personality:[/b] Sarah has a somewhat gloomy disposition. She isn't exactly depressive or anything, but the way she puts so much effort into everything leaves her with a lasting air of exhaustion. She is a genius by some measures, and she's accustomed to taking things very seriously -- dissecting them, reconstructing them, examining them from every angle. But she is not immune to humor. Nor is she even as strait-laced as she would have you believe. She has a load of girlish feelings bottled up inside her; feelings that she has hardly had a chance to express during her short time with World Serpent. [b]Biography:[/b] World Serpent is a shadowy organization with roots reaching back into the distant past. Having a fuller perspective on things than most, they had set out from the beginning to collect the pieces that would be necessary to defeat the honkai. One area in which this perspective was obvious, was the organization's interest in natural psychics. Psychic powers were extraordinarily rare, thought not even to exist by most. But World Serpent knew of their existence. They tested children for them when they were young, and collected those who showed promise to themselves. Most of the time these powers were unstable, and they weren't as essential as one might think. Still, the range of aptitude was vast. And it was thought that outliers on this scale may be able to make a difference. Sarah Hughes was scouted when she was nine years old. Her aptitude tests were impressive, but her raw telekinetic ability was nothing short of miraculous. Perhaps it was due to some freak of biology, or of fate. But with strict training, and applied techniques from the ancient days of humanity, Sarah's abilities improved even more. She became a promising young case, and it felt that all eyes were on her. The organization gave the girl respect, and a nice home - things she had always craved. So she threw herself into her studies, putting her natural gifts and her sharp intelligence to use by day and night. By the time she was a teenager, she was top of her class. Other girls had been looking up to her for advice for some time, and she started to develop a personality that was mature and serious - like a class president. Sarah passed the preliminary requirements to become a Valkyrie candidate. Her physical scores were barely past the line of acceptability, but she quietly augmented them with telekinesis in order to get through. Unfortunately, the artificial stigmata was very hard on the young woman. She fell ill for a time, and her survival wasn't a sure thing. But she eventually recovered and became a full-fledged valkyrie. Fighting real honkai beasts was an enormous challenge. Sarah felt like she learned more about it in a few weeks than in all her time at the academy. It was awkward making use of her telekinesis against enemies that could simply shake it off. She experimented with different strategies, but it took time to find something effective. After some guidance from her mentor, she learned how to use a cross in battle, and how to amplify and concentrate her psychic powers into something that would pack a real punch. She's gone out on a few more missions since then, and has been moved up to a status of Rank C. The elevated position came with more and more difficult work for her. Still, Sarah was feeling more confident all the time. With an artificial stigmata, her entire future was uncertain. She couldn't afford to falter because of a little danger.
