Olivia Jones is a 30-year-old beat cop who takes her job seriously and is determined to prove she has what it takes to become a capable detective. She is a natural problem solver, and having lived her entire life in Caledon, she has gained a reputation on the streets for her reliability and attention to detail during her six years on the force. Olivia can be empathetic and compassionate towards victims and strives to make a positive impact in the community. However, Olivia has trouble seeing the world as anything other than Black and White.
What sets Olivia apart from other cops is her sensitivity to magic. Since childhood, she has been able to feel and see magic, though she cannot use it herself. This sensitivity has developed her intuition and made her more observant than the average cop. While Olivia has learned to keep her sensitivity to magic to herself, she believes that it is an asset to the police force and eagerly puts it to good use.
Olivia's motivation to become a detective is fueled by her ambition to use her sensitivity to magic to help solve crimes. She believes that her unique ability can be used to solve cases that others might Dismiss. However, Olivia's sensitivity to magic is also a challenge. She must be careful not to let it cloud her judgment or lead her down the wrong path. She must also learn to work with others who might judge her.
