Kailani’s Family was from the former Aquatic kingdom. Her father, Tiberious, was a Leader of the king's royal guard. It was a prestigious title and only the very best of the Aquatic city’s warriors were chosen. 

During the war when the Malthemoor Kingdom attempted to attack, Tiberious led the small group of rebels who didn’t agree with the king's decision to stand down. Wanting to protect his home and family, Tiberious took on the Mathemoor army with a small group. Unfortunately, they were quickly cut down. It was then when Safiyra learned of her husband's death that she found out she was pregnant with their first child. 

Kailani was raised for the rest of her young years by her mother but unfortunately, her mother was taken by scavengers when attempting to hide Kailani in a shipwreck during a raid. Many of the sirens over the last 80 years have been snatched for the black market trade and sadly Safiyra was just another. Raising herself on her own, learning to forage/hunt and survey the waters. She spent all her time living in the rough sea that she never thought of calling any other place home. She wanted to live in her father's footsteps, she wanted to become a fierce warrior so she could take revenge on the Malthemoor Kingdom and bring justice back to her home and people. Her mother's disappearance weighed on her mind a lot as well, unsure of if she was dead or alive. She was set on learning the ways of the land people so she could help find and protect her mother from ever being taken again. 

Learning more about the people on land, Kailani met a man one evening during her nightly swim. They spent many nights together, he taught her about stories from on land and Kailani fell in love with the Light elf. One night while meeting him in their place, Elrand betrayed her, grabbing her from the water and dragging her ashore where he placed a collar around her neck. The magic properties of the collar made it so she couldn’t use her voice to charm anyone anymore. Keeping her captive for years, Elrand sold her off on many occasions to the highest bidder. Kailani endured years of torture and abuse at the hands of her master, a man she once loved. Everything she had known had been a lie, and each day she lived a constant reminder. 

Finally, one night Kailani managed to escape. She took off into the woods, running as far as her human legs would carry her. Finding her way back to the waters, she swam back towards the north pass hiding every chance she got out of fear he would find her. The only downfall to her new freedom was the key to the collar she wore around her neck. It was a magical item that made it so she couldn't use her voice to ensnare him and he was the only one able to remove it. A constant reminder of his ownership over her. That was 10 years ago. 

Present-day Kailani hides in the woods, she learned to hunt and learned about survival while attempting to train and failing terribly. Instead, she helped the locals with Pelts, Meat, and other hand-crafted items that she sold or donated. Swearing she would never become a captive again Kailani stayed hidden, planning her next move.
