Jub had been about to open his mouth in an attempt to try and persuade Brutrumukk that [i]maybe[/i] they shouldn't go back to the cottage right now when the bugbear was attacked and dragged into the water... bringing Jub down with him. The goblin quickly found himself flailing about in the water in an attempt to stay afloat as his mind was cycling through what in the hells he was going to do.

During this time, Gabe used some sort of spell in attempt to incapacitate the merrows that were attacking them. However, instead of working on their intended targets, it instead put the submerged Brutrumukk to sleep instead, as Jub could now see air bubbles coming out from beneath the water. Panicked, he let out a few curses in the goblin language before taking a deep breath and diving under the water to get to Brutrumukk. Upon reaching him, he attempted to shake the bugbear awake.
