The character has been transferred to my ownership after a conversation on Discord:
Name: Salaman Erkinaan Alderan Nickname/s: None that he would want to admit to… School/Grade: Lord Kiburi's School for the Truly Exceptional, 1st year Age: 15 Height: 5’ 6” Appearance: He has red hair and wears his school uniform most of the time, with the addition of an enchanted scarf which protects from fire. The school uniform might be hard to recognize because many students of Lord Kiburi’s don’t bother wearing it, but he will assure you he is wearing it properly. Personality: A little milquetoast. There are many wild and colorful personalities that line the halls of Lord Kiburi’s Academy for the Truly Exceptional, but Salaman Erkinan Alderan is simply not one of them. He would admit to having an affinity for quieter spaces, and he would most certainly not admit to being afraid of the loud ones. One of the rules of Lord Kiburi’s Academy after all is as stated; don’t be a wimp. He has to try very hard not to be caught in disregard of this rule. Bio: Salaman Erkinan Alderan bears a heavy name, and an even heavier destiny. He inherits the name of heroes. His family’s legacy is that of myths and legends. He is their first-born son, he bears the responsibility of their ancient legacy. The Ancient Evil was pushed back to enclaves around the world during the War for the Heavens. But while the Ancient Evil remained in existence at all, it would have to be sealed so that it could not possibly harm any living thing. This seal took the form of Magic, as while the Ancient Evil had the power to destroy the Gods and their constructs, Magic which was created in collaboration between Humans and Gods could not be corroded by the Ancient Evil. There would need to be guardians to oversee these seals. These Guardians would have to pass down their duty until the threat posed by the Ancient Evil was fully eradicated beyond the shadow of a doubt. The line of Alderan is an unbroken line of one of these ancient protectors. They uphold this duty to the modern day. Until death, they protect the seal. Nowadays ‘death’ usually happens to be of old age though. The threat of the Ancient Evil has long been one that exists only in history books. Truth be told, though they still revere their oath, and understand the potential catastrophe that could occur if they were ever to break it, they’ve become… a little loose with the rules so to speak. Only in certain areas, of course. They would never dream of being lax in their duties, but the rules for informing their descendants about their all-important task have been a little… stretched. For example, Salaman’s father, the current heir of the Seal of Flame, the Alderan’s charge, informed him properly of the whole circumstances of their God-sworn duty about three days before his fifteenth birthday. “I was supposed to tell you about it on your fifteenth birthday, but this is close enough probably,” Salaman’s father had said over a fantastic dinner of Rigatoni alla Gricia, with garlic bread. His family was there as well, and a few cousins and uncles/aunts that had decided to come over for dinner that day. Salaman hadn’t had any knowledge of their sacred duty prior to this day. He would take a note later that the casual delivery of the line; “I don’t think the world is going to die if you’re not ready to take over or anything, but you should probably take the preparations seriously when it comes around,” didn’t really seem to match the gravity of the situation. That incident was about 3 months ago at this point and Salaman still doesn’t know how to feel about this new destiny of his. There’s still quite some time before he has to take up the mantle. His father may be one of the first that will retire the role instead of protecting it until death, leaving Salaman to inherit it at a relatively young age, but that still won’t be for another decade at least. He’s had to worry about making friends for his entire high school life in a school he wouldn’t have chosen if he had to choose. Besides that, just the normal high school things like making sure he gets good grades, and makes a lasting impression. And now, this. Not to mention that it seems Lord Kiburi has taken some sort of interest in him. He seems to have plans for him, and his gift. Lord Kiburi and his father have long been friends, perhaps he has something in mind for the initiation his father told him about but Salaman hadn’t seen hide or hair since. Or maybe… it was something else…? Core Power: Salaman has inherited his family’s gift for Fire Magic, specifically in the use of Runes. Runes are an Ancient technique. A solidification of Magic Potential in the medium of Flame for the Alderan family. Spells crafted using Runes tend to last longer, and the Runes themselves have a tangible physical form. The art that the Alderan family specializes in is Runecraft, the weaving together of Runes in the likeness of objects and creatures from myth and legends. Salaman specializes in weaving creatures of myth together. So far in his time learning the family magic, he has mastered the creation of three specific creatures. For each of his creatures, he must take the time to weave the runes together from scratch. There are several formulas he can apply to hasten the creation of these creatures, formulas for scribing several runes at once, but a spell of this level of complexity will take time no matter what.

Sub-power: This Runecrafted creature takes the form of a massive serpent of legend, said to have been long enough to wind around the world 6 times. Salaman’s version has a limit for the length it can really be crafted until it would end up falling apart under the complexity of its own rune structure. A snake has a very simple structure that repeats itself, so the serpent is relatively easy for Salaman to make. At his quickest, he could summon a small version of the snake in about one minute. It would only be long enough to wrap around one person. The snake will wrap around its target, and then it will unleash the flames contained within its runic construction, before cannibalizing them all and self-destructing in a fiery explosion.
Sub-power: This Runecrafted construct is based on an ancient automaton that was said to have defended a certain coastal kingdom’s borders once upon a time. Salaman’s best direct combat construct. It is capable of the same self-destruction abilities as the snake, but is far less agile so Salaman won’t tend to use it for that. At its shortest, it stands at 7 feet tall because of the required construction to make it move and listen to orders. At its tallest, it can rival a two-storey building. The more complex construction needs to allow tolerances for gravity and weight distribution. If he makes it much bigger, it would crush itself under its own weight. It can attack with its fists and body as a solid construct, but it can also unleash a stream of fire from its hands. It will not stop advancing until its body is fully destroyed, or Salaman unsummons it.
Sub-power: This Runecrafted construct is based on ancient legends of a blazing bird, said to be immortal, that kindled flames down below as it flew through the sky. Unlike the others, Salaman is not as adept at creating this construct so he varies very little in its construction. He can only create the same pattern again and again, because of the complexity and esoteric conceptualization required. He has a chance to fail the summoning of this creature. He can always try again, but his magic reserves are finite. As a trade-off, it is his strongest summon. It has the ability to create a blazing firestorm in his immediate surroundings. Salaman would not be immune to the effects without his signature scarf, and his friends would not be so lucky if they were caught in its radius. This firestorm rekindles traces of Fire Magic still remaining in the area. If Salaman’s constructs are not fully destroyed before their rune formations collapse, the Phoenix can resurrect them to a stable version of whatever stage they happened to be before their disappearance. It will also repair their rune structure if it has been damaged but they are still alive.
