Name: Jester Game Origin: Darkest Dungeon Appearance: Personality: Jester is a sardonic man, but has a bit more humor than cynicism for life. In his experience, one has to be able to laugh and not take themselves too seriously in order to survive. It would be too grim, otherwise. Likewise, he embraces the notion of having strong passions for things. His music remains his strongest passion and acts as a motivator for him as life is just a grand stage for his tragic act. Others should find those two aspects as well. Anyone devoid of apparent passion or humor is dreadfully boring or deranged enough that Jester might humorously consider they'd be up for self-harm! Background: Dazed...Reeling... About to.... Break.... Falling to one knee, Sarmenti clutched the wound on his abdomen. Even through his glove, he could feel flow of blood wash through his fingers. It oddly reminded him of the fountain back in tow, how he was drawn to dipping his hand in the flowing current from tried to keep the water moving. Did he ever lose this much blood before? His head lolled, dipping right requiring him to shake his head and straighten. The act brought him to refocus on the Man-At-Arms in front of him or at least the half of the veteran that remained after the Shambling horror had pulled him apart with one of its many tentacles. How many did it have again? He found himself thinking despite being in mortal peril. His gaze lifted to the creature just behind the bottom half of his comrade-in-arms to see the monster that had ripped through all four of them. Its nine, red beady eyes were unblinking as it worked to stuff the Alchemist in its mouth. Sarmenti frowned behind his mask as he heard her muffled screams through her own mask. It was a mistake, her mistake technically but he couldn't fault her, for interacting with that strange red orb. He'd be joining her soon in there. His attention shifted back to the tentacles, counting each one. There were five at the front but there just so many underneath the thing and they were all wiggling and active. He couldn't keep up but he tried. Eighteen... nineteen... I don't think that's twenty. Huh. The creature seemed to stop. Frozen? Nobody knew how to do that and yet, it wasn't moving. No, what's more is the darkness of the void that had consumed them seemed to, now, be illuminated from some source. Sarmanti's looked around, finding nothing but the gradually fading darkness and swiftly replacing light. Was this death? He wondered, his gaze still shifting around until he seemed to find the source of the light. It was something far off beneath him, like he was a bird looking down on the earth. Some figure, far too distant to see in detail, was pulsing in a light that seemed to erode the void. It was blinding and the longer stared, the blinder he became until the whiteness overtook everything in his vision. He couldn't see the rest of him. Surely, this was death. Sarmenti closed his eyes one last time, uttering what he thought was his last laugh ironically.... He opened his eyes. The world around him had changed and glancing down to his stomach, he was in one piece. Was this death or had something happened? Specialty: Support Level: 1 Experience: 0/10 (The amount of EXP required to level up will increase by 10 each level, but rewards get bigger, too) Powers:
Battle Ballad: Jester plays a condensed song that is liable to invigorate one targeted person to strengthen their next attack to be at least one stage above their average damage impact. Because a musician requires an audience, he can't affect himself but should a targeted individual score a hit, Jester would then copy that buff and his next hit will be stronger in the same manner.
Strengths:
Harvest: Attacking with a hooked blade and dagger, Jester has a chance to inflict a passive bleed damage. A singular bleed "dot" will not add much damage, but each new attack and proc of bleed will increase damage and duration of this passive bleed damage. The target doesn't have to physically bleed for this damaging debuff to proc, but there can be notable exceptions to entities that have bleed resistance. Evasive: If there was any of describing Jester's combative ability, you could sum it up in a word: Elusive. Jester has a high dodge chance, preferring to keep out of harm's way due to a rather fragile constitution. Adaptive: As Jester is soon to discover, the companions he will travel with will come in many shapes and sizes. There would possibly be a risk of knowing how best to work with other people before but with Jester, he knows how to fight from any "position" so to speak. He will be moving in and out of battle, fighting at a distance or in close, matching his companions to synergize quite well.
Weaknesses:
Not a Soloist: While Jester may claim it isn't fun playing on his own, the truth is that he is far less effective without a positive, endearing audience, or rather teammates, to play to. Solo fights will end up rather poorly for Jester on most occasions. Fragile: Jester has the unfortunate quirk of being fragile, meaning he is far more susceptible to taking more damage from hits. They are best to be avoided.
