[b]Backstory:[/b] A young trainer from Nuvema Town, like many other youths, Hail dreamed of starting a Pokémon journey. From a early age, he expressed a fascination for Pokémon, even outside of just training and battling. His parents, who were well-renowned Pokemon researchers themselves, were more than happy to satiate his curiosity, though their work meant that they rarely had the time to do so. It wasn't all bad, however, as it was through them that he was able to gain the mentorship of Professor Juniper, who taught him a great many things that would be of great use on his journey, and beyond.

When it came time for Hail to leave his hometown and set off on his own journey, he was well-read on the behavior and habitats of many Pokémon and would only become more knowledgeable throughout his travels. With his trusty partner, Osha the Samurott by his side, Hail was well on his way to becoming a Pokémon Master. When the the time of the World Pokémon Contest came around, Hail was interested, if somewhat hesitant at first. There was a time when he once considered becoming a coordinator himself, but he simply had too little time. It was only due to his mentor's insistence that he went to board the SS Lugia and witness the Contest first hand. Having wealthy parents had its perks.

The World Pokémon Contest was only a slight detour, but one he might enjoy all the same.

[b]Personality:[/b] Hail is a smooth-talking, sarcastic individual with no filter whatsoever. In and out of battle, Hail is always one to keep a cool head, no matter the situation. A tactical trainer with a penchant for using his opponents' own strategies against them, Hail enjoys the act of battle just as much as he does interacting with Pokemon themselves. As his close friends can attest, Hail is a genuine person possessed of an enthusiasm for Pokemon that few can match.
