what is an obscure or niche topic that you think about way too much?
I have way too many to even count so I will just pull from some that are “on hand”. (Aside from my deep study of East Asian histories, cultures, and religion because of both general fascination and my own personal relatability.) 1. I am a huge history nut so aside from the literal Roman Empire various kingdoms, states, and dynasties through history and events surrounding them.
The Macedonian Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantine Empire, the more powerful of the Muslim dynasties through the Middle Ages (Umayyads, Abbasids, Fatimids, Sulayhids - Holla Sultana Arwa! - Seljuks, Ayyubids, Ottomans, etcetera.), the Holy Roman Empire, Capet France, William the Conquerors’ England, the kingdoms of Iberia during the Reconquista, the Teutonic Orders’ Baltic state… Uhm… Ēxcān Tlahtōlōyān (The Triple Alliance/Aztec Empire)… It is a list, haha. So, yes, some notable periods in an “expanse” of history for one. EDIT: Honestly this barely even scratches the surface.
2. How Ayben Ersoy and Mizgin are extremely underappreciated. 3. I have some very select genres and sub-genres of music that I am really into, including things like throat singing and percussive styles.
