[@shadowsaint007] All sound like pretty good options, and if you could get one of the others to work with you, that would be splendid.  If not, I wouldn't mind throwing in a doomed NPC for you or working on what kind of treasure it is that needs to be [i]obtained[/i] from Matthias, though I would say it's probably something that would do more harm than good.  Maybe the one who offered Chance the job has an underlying motive other than [i]it's pretty and expensive so I want it.[/i]
