[b][color=a52a2a]Life Before The Outbreak:[/color][/b] For much of Kali's life, things haven't looked up.

She had been primarily raised by her mother in a shoddy home within the city of Boston. Given that her mother had to frequently work, but also that her father was often never around to begin with, Kali often acted out in hopes of receiving attention from her absentee parents, having felt abandoned and ignored. Sometimes it meant a fight at school, other times it was an argument at home. Problematic as it was, such actions seemed to be the only way her parents would pay attention to her. More often than not they would miss games and recitals, yet they suddenly cared if she lashed out somehow.

Unfortunately for Kali, her parents didn't take well to her newfound troublesome nature. Rather than give her the care and love she had been wanting, they tossed Kali into therapy, wherein she had been diagnosed with anger issues among other things. To her parents, she was the sole problem in their family; they never took any responsibility for anything. 

These actions in turn led to Kali longing for some sort of freedom as the years passed by, which ultimately culminated into moving to New York alongside a friend of hers. It was far enough away from her parents, after all, and there was a chance she could always hit it big. Nevertheless, after a few years, the Big Apple proved to be not what it was all meant to be for Kali—she found it difficult to hold a steady job, her ticket to greatness never showed up, and worst of all she had began to repeatedly find herself at differences with her friend. She doesn't want to admit to her parents that she couldn't make it out on her own, but which each passing day it seems to be the more likely option to take.

For now, though, she'll keep waitressing tables, making barely enough to survive and hoping that her lucky day eventually comes.
