So I was asking xenon about the wand and thought of a sequence of events. I won't be doing this because I think it would be out of character for Adam to risk the element of surprise for this, but I'm copy pasting it below for your amusement.

-In the library, he sees a cultist in robes, and asks them how the wand works
-The cultist explains it, then only afterwards does he realize that Adam isn't a cultist 
-Adam punches the guy in the face just as he realizes that
