Like much of the rest of the world, Colorado fell into a state of anarchy and chaos as a result of a number of domestic and foreign conflicts followed by the breaking down of the US government. While various nuclear and biological weapons were utilized which damaged the environment initially, Rado is now a lush green place where nature is flourishing. This is thanks in part to a smaller human population than before and the fact nobody can get any of the motor vehicles to run.

While The Nobility controls the middle and North Colorado, various tribes, cults, and cannibals inhabit the surrounding areas.
