You would be wrong. 

Salem is a cold person, struggling to empathize with her peers or to really connect with anyone in a pure, unfiltered way. She treats her relationships like business transactions, and likes when she’s on the benefiting side. The young woman is fiercely independent. Having the aptitude of a natural born leader, she isn’t easily peer pressured and tends to march to the beat of her own drum. While she has an explosive temper, Salem is calm, cool and calculated when it comes to her revenge. She is a cruel person, though not a bully. Salem likes to study people to learn all of their weaknesses, and will exploit them against you at any given time. She has often been described as an emotionless bitch, except for those times where she’s punching someone in the face - then she’s an angry bitch. 

While cold, cruel, and reserved - deep down the brunette is fiercely loyal, and does surprisingly make for a good friend. She has jokes for days, and a witty comeback for just about anything.

[indent][list][*]Salem was born in Atlanta Georgia and moved to Westpoint at the age of five due to her fathers work. Due to the economic recession, Salem’s family underwent financial struggles just like everyone else. Her father lost his job and turned to alcohol. Her mother put in long shifts at the ER as a nurse, and turned bitter towards both her husband and child. 
[*]Salem’s schooling up until freshman year was perfectly fine. Her father died the summer before from liver failure. Her mother became even more of a shell of a person and turned to the bottle herself. Salem did her best to keep her grades up, and started getting into fights - lashing out at both her peers and teachers. She began vandalising the buildings around town with the local gang (mostly through the means of spray paint and fire). Coming home to an empty house each night was depressing, and she found it easier to hang out with the people who gave her attention for being a mess. 
[*]The last day of Sophomore year, Salem got into a fight that wound up with the other girl in the hospital. Charges were pressed, and she spent that summer in juvie hall, on top of being expelled from her former high-school. She started at Westpoint High at the beginning of her Junior year, and did nothing to combat her reputation - if anything, she relished in it. She has continued to get in and out of fights, set things on fire, and break other things with baseball bats. It’s truthfully only a matter of time until she gets caught again.

Her mother is also the reason why she’s worked part time at Huskers since 16 - someone has to make sure the bills are paid when the adult is wasting their money on vices.
