I pull out my phone and take as many pictures as I possibly can before I close the drawer and shut the door. It shouldn’t surprise me that my cheeks are glistening with tears, but here we are. I take a few moments and a couple of deep breaths before I head over to the coroner’s desk to find the files. There were so many discrepancies between the autopsy report and what had actually happened to her body, it would be hard for them to keep playing dumb with this evidence. I pull out my phone again to take photos of the report.
