The smaller fox's question hung in the for a moment, unanswered. Not that it really [i]needed[/i] one— Duncan knew that [i]something[/i] was just a bit fucky here to put it mildly, a change of clothes aside. To start, all things considered, he felt [i]fine...[/i] which was honestly kind of the most obvious that something was very [i]wrong[/i] here; a man of his age wasn't [i]supposed[/i] to be feeling 'fine', nor able to walk around so easily. He also rather quickly picked up on the girl's diction, tucking away in the back of his that he'd rarely— if ever— encountered a kid who spoke quite like [i]that.[/i] And that's not even getting into the surplus of fuzzy tails in his immediate vicinity at that moment... though the thought [i]did[/i] inspire him to unconsciously wave his free hand behind him slightly to make sure he didn't have any fuzzy bits of his own.

...He'd really need to find a mirror or something at some point.

More to the point, however, the apparent knight answered the Fox's query with a simple, flat statement as he took a quick look around him. Nodding in acceptance at the inarguable— albeit [i]frankly ridiculous[/i] fact of the matter:

[color=seagreen][b]"Shit."[/b][/color]

The old Canuck let that one hang in the air for a solid quarter minute before letting out a breath and finally actually strapping on the shield he'd been deftly holding in his left hand.

[color=seagreen]"Well, on the off-chance that every holy man I've ever met wasn't [i]tragically mistaken[/i] and this [i]isn't[/i] the afterlife... at least we're not [i]screwed."[/i][/color] Duncan continued. [color=seagreen]"We can watch eachother's backs, we have some means of defending ourselves and [i]most importantly,[/i] we have a [i][b]road:[/b][/i] That means that people live, or at least [i]lived[/i] nearby. And if we follow it— preferably, whichever way takes us downhill— we're likely to find a town, shelter or at the very least a source of water. Hopefully while we still have daylight."[/color] 

He then cast a quick glance between the other two before adding, probably realizing he was being a little rude;

[color=seagreen]"...Oh, and you can call me Duncan, by the way."[/color]
