Her hand trembled slightly as she continued to draw a light outline, face tight with concentration. It was tiring and painfully slow to create something this large… but anything smaller wouldn’t be useful. Halfway there. A disgusting stench wafted up Anya’s nostrils, and she scrunched her nose up. Nausea tried to break her concentration and she pushed it down. She’d visited plenty of unpleasant smelling dreams, such as Luca’s - filled with rot as far as the eye could see. But this wasn’t coming from Luca, or a dream… Ah. Through the rain Anya caught the shadow of the undead monster, rotting flesh growing more pungent in the air as it played with a jacket right beside the tree she was crouching behind. Concentration broken, Anya bit down on her lip and pressed up against the tree. As long as she stayed on the other side of the tree and it stayed distracted by… was that Sloane’s jacket? Anya’s eyes narrowed. Object of obsession. She needed a way out of this. Her summon was interrupted, and she had no practical spells. She needed it directed elsewhere - or for someone to shield her so she could get out. Preferably Stormy. But she couldn’t move out from where the thick tree trunk protected her. Anya closed her eyes, deep frown creasing her lips. Another summon. A small, quick one, from her own dream. It had been less than two hours since her nap. Making careful, tight movements, Anya drew her fountain pen in the air right in front of her - soft glow shielded by her own body and the torrential downpour. She sped up the normally two minute long casting by only summoning one small creature, rather than multiple. In front of her a small, foxlike shadow creature formed. She furrowed her brows, quickly getting it under her control. Find Sloane, direct her to me. Sloane was the only one the creature would be able to seek out - the only person they’d been around before. Anya just had to have faith that she’d send someone to get her out of this unfortunate situation that… Sloane had caused. Or, that the security team Ezra had assigned to her was in the area. The little shadow creature scurried out from behind the tree, through the undergrowth. It blended in with the dim light and the rain, quickly seeking out its target and running as fast as its small legs could carry it. As soon as it reached Sloane it stood up on its hind legs - reaching her knee - and tugged her pants. Sloane would recognise it as one of the creatures Anya regularly summoned to help set up her shop, which Sloane had witnessed a few times. As it tried to get Sloane’s attention, it also pointed towards the tree Anya was hiding behind - right where the undead creature was playing with the jacket. Two naked, burning women were duking it out with George and Vashti - she was surprised Emily didn’t die on the spot from their lack of clothes - and everyone else was in chaos. Emily had some kind of plan, but she hadn’t really paid much attention to it. Ah, well, she should probably fight someone. That would be easy enough to do from the safety of the grotesque creature’s leg. No problem- HOLY SHIT! A bullet in the form of a person shot through the thigh Maya had been hiding behind. Thankfully it didn’t hit her- or any of them. Her head snapped around to watch Kenshiro slam into the ground and just keep going. She was almost impressed, if she’d cared enough to be impressed. But he and the girl he was talking to were behind the creature. Maya couldn’t for the life of her remember the stupid plan Emily had but… Vashti had already run off, so what did it matter? Maya really didn’t want some flying asshole turning around and destroying her from behind. She wasn’t into that.
”...Lynn Serenelight... Choose!"
Maya snapped her finger, causing Ken’s words to echo out in a jarring screech that would hurt his and Lynn’s ears. “Awww, that’s so sweet! You really should jump in that hole, so you survive and search for your dead little girlfriend! I have to say, I can see why she went for you both.” Maya winked at them both, lips curving into a devious smirk. Oh this was going to be fun. One was clearly a weakling, one not so much. It had been so long since she’d had a proper fight. Even if one of them was sobbing and the other was overly dramatic in how he talked. “Butttt… I’m afraid I can’t let you leave. So just get in the hole and watch. Or you can join in if you want, I'm not fussy- but I don't think you can handle me. You, on the other hand,” Maya grinned at Ken, expression playful, "definitely can." Maya clapped her hands together, a reverberating shield of solid sound forming around her. The sound of the rain thudding against the ground, the fire crackling in the background, and Emily's irritating shouting reduced in a bubble around her in sync with her fingers tapping together - catching Ken and Lynn, but not extending far outwards. She then thrust her hands forward, shooting a blast of screeching sound directly at him. If it hit, it would be like being slammed by a wall of solid air, that both caused ringing in his ears and knocked him back.
Interactions: No one she’s playing dead
Kari's House

At first, Linqian felt excitement and adrenaline pulsing through her veins as she managed to pull Vashti down to the ground with her. Mud cooled her back, but her front was burning hot and only increasing in temperature everywhere they were touching. She smirked at the feeling of clothes smouldering and melting underneath her, skin burning and boiling. A loud crack interrupted her satisfaction, hard skull smashing into her face again and again until her grip loosened around Vashti, legs falling against the floor. Pain exploded from her nose and outwards, black spots dancing across her vision as everything went fuzzy in front of her. Blood trickled down her chin, instantly coagulating. Her nose was probably broken. Shit. Thank fuck for Aryin’s part of the spell, or she’d be knocked the fuck out! But her head was spinning, eyes unfocused and unable to tell exactly what was up or down. She couldn’t move. Vashti’s claws were coming for her throat, a second time, and she couldn’t do anything about it. There are worse ways to die. At least Huanyi will be taken care of… As Linqian accepted her death with a pained smile, cold mud splattered all across her face where it should have been her hot blood. She didn’t- couldn’t- struggle when Vashti covered her mouth and pulled her hair in a way which was far too hot for the current situation. Her breathing grew heavier- not just from the adrenaline- and her eyes darkened. Shit, not the time to think of things that way…. Oh, but it was such a shame. Such a shame when all she whispered in her ear was to play dead, before climbing off her. To get another chance at what? Living? Not something she was so fond of. At Vashti? Now, that was much more appealing. She’d go along with it just now. Vashti had made it look realistic enough, right? Everyone would assume she was… well, it was a problem for people on her side. Not so much for the other. She’d wait for the right moment to strike. A surprise attack. And Aryin would know she was fine. Too hot to handle was still active - if her life was extinguished, so was the burning heat. Linqian closed her eyes, struggling to keep them open as the cloud filled sky spun above her. Her still head felt like it was swinging in circles, nausea clawing its way up her throat, but for the amount of hits she’d taken… it wasn’t that bad. She was just real fucking dazed, light-headed with her thoughts all murky. She probably needed a healing spell to sit up anytime soon. Fuck, why had she neglected her magic all these years?! Jinhai had even tried to teach her his self-healing, but it hadn’t really worked for her… but she could’ve made it something that did! She was really regretting that now, fuck. It was fine. For now she’d just lie here. There was a green glow in front of her - a shield. Shit, well, as soon as the whole world stopped spinning she’d get back up and keep going… Until then, she’d play dead. Moving would only result in her falling back down anyway.
