“Yeah, I’m usually able to subdue someone without too much effort, so you won’t have to expose yourself with your magic.” I convince her, reaching over to rest my hand on her leg again as I drive. When I start hearing hits landing, I use the mirror to watch Avery. I was still curling the weights, but I was definitely entranced by his fighting technique. My da and I would regularly go see boxing matches as I was growing up and I loved watching fights. At one point I even convinced my da to let me start boxing. It turned out I was terrible at it, so we kept to just watching it after that. As if I hadn’t already been a depraved idiot most of the day, I found myself excited from watching him move around the bag. When it shatters, I blink and shake my head, refocusing on the weights. It’s not easy though - I could really much rather watch Avery’s muscles as they flex with each move he makes.
