Leaning on the wall, I wait for Cass to re-emerge, trying not to think about what being back at this police station felt like for me. I pull out my phone and pull up some articles on new medical innovations and where they’re at in the studies for them while I wait. When Cass walks out of the door, I find myself grinning widely and pulling her into a hug right away.
