hi! i'm quasar, she/her. roleplaying career:
i've been play by post roleplaying since the days of msn groups and playing ttrpgs since ad&d 2e (can you hear my joints creaking?) i found my way here because my current pbp games are on hiatus and i need my fix
roleplaying preferences:
i prefer one-on-one or small groups for games-- once you hit 4 players it's exponentially harder to keep the momentum going. i primarily play in sci fi and fantasy genres with a heaping scoop of horror for flavor. my preferred fandoms for pbp are:
mass effect old republic star wars legends of the 5 rings pathfinder dragon age jovian chronicles forgotten realms
there's more fandoms, i've just forgotten what they are. i love to take niche parts of a setting and explore the space with original characters, while keeping the game grounded in the setting. this makes sense, promise. i also enjoy original games, especially when using powered by the apocalypse rulesets like:
monster of the week urban shadows blades in the dark high magic lowlives masks a new generation extreme meatpunks forever
...and so on. i have yet to find a pbta ruleset i haven't liked. i like free form pbp games as well, but having dice rolls just gives pbp a little sum'n sum'n, you know? my posts are usually in the range of 500-700 words, give or take. i typically run 1 or 2 primary characters and a smattering of NPCs which is, coincidentally, what i like my partners to run as well. i like having a healthy cast of characters, since that just means more opportunities for plot.
hobbies & interests:
i collect hobbies like kindergarteners collect germs. my current hyperfixations are making dice and refinishing furniture. ask me again in six months and i'm sure i'll be learning a brand new thing because i saw a cool video and i'm a creature of hubris ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
