Cassi stretched out, and a comforting pull reached out through her body before she sighed and walked into the kitchen. Three cats trailed after her, playing and winding around her feet as she got them ready for bed.

Cassi looked at her phone after she set her mug in the sink. Her fingers brushed over her screen several times before she texted Nic again.
