A shiver runs up Kiki’s spine, Avery’s words thrilling her. She has half a mind to start running around the car lot to make him chase her, but refrains. Glancing around, she makes sure they’re sort of tucked away and not in full view of the FroYo establishment before she gets up and plops herself in Avery’s lap.

Their fingers trace the tattoos as the jet jostles and becomes airborne. This time, Nero barely even acknowledges it.
