The three most physically challenging events I endured are Basic Combat Training, Officer's Candidate School and a Black Belt Test.

The single most challenging emotional event I endured was the birth of my first child; almost lost the wife that day.

"Always in the last place you look" seemed like a silly expression to me. I mean, of course it's in the last place I look, why would I keep looking after I find it? Recently, someone pointed out that the expression is meant to be "Always in the last place you'd look" (the last place you would consider looking). That apostrophe d makes all the difference. Well yes, aren't I the silly one, then. Anyway, normally when I find a lost item I suddenly remember how it got there. Not this time. Found my lost sock under the kitchen sink. I might have a poltergeist with an odd associative disorder with socks and dishwashing detergent.

I have waited 35 years to find a place that I felt home at and after looking for that place. I heard that is just a feeling and I thought that sound corny when I was little kid. I finally understand it and finally found my home

Found my lost sock under the kitchen sink. I might have a poltergeist with an odd associative disorder with socks and dishwashing detergent.

When my children were young, I kept a box in the hall closet with a label that read, "Sad Sock Box." Every weekend I would look in the box to see if I found a mate or add to it socks that did not have a mate. The kids are all teens now.

I have been known to put lemonade/iced-tea-mix into ice-cream.

Along with honey, maple syrup, peanut-butter, crackers, and nuts.

Oh, and hot cocoa mix... maybe some chocolate syrup or strawberry-jam if I'm feeling bold.

Sometimes served in a coffee-mug, which makes rinsing it out with a hot fresh cup of coffee kinda simple.

I DO NOT recommend freshly prepared rice.

I love savory oats, my favorite recipe right now;

- caramelize some onion (to your liking)
- mince a clove of garlic, add it, and let it all cook for a minute or two
- add in chicken stock (or water works fine) and let it boil
- add oats
- add soy sauce and oyster sauce to your liking
- cook it until oats thicken, stir so all the flavors mingle together
- serve and top with scallions or sesame seeds

I like to add a fried egg. It's so good!
