Strike two...ok technically Strike three. Sage didnt let go, not fully anyway. He gripped the beast as best he could with on hand and cocked back to punch it in the back of its neck. Spirits light may have been blinding but he only needed to punch and that was easy. so he punched...and punched...and punched. Each audibly cracking something beneath the skin of the beast. It was enough, combined with spirits attack, to run the beast into the ground. it was only then that Sage Lept off the beast into a tree. He looked a bit feral at the moment but in truth he was pretty calm. just on edge since he wasnt sure if that was the end of the crisis.
