Meri grew up in Alaska, with her tribe and family, learning how to use the land to survive and live.  Like her father, brothers, and uncles, the girl found more familiarity and love with the wilds than she did with people.  Throughout basic schooling, Meri had begun offering guided hunts and taught young and inexperienced hunters to survive safely out in the woods and on the tundra.  It was truly no surprise that she went to college for ecology and wildlife management.  Returning home and working for her father, there was success in founding and running a search and rescue operation on top of the family business.

Ideas for plots -
[list][*] A childhood friend returns home and a new romance kindles.
[*] Tourist/hunter comes in and ends up falling in love out in the Alaskan wilderness.  Alternatively, a local to the city where the family business front could connect with her.
[*] Supernatural elements; mysterious disappearances that need someone who can survive in the wilderness to find clues for missing persons, missing livestock, etc. 
[*] This character would do very well in end of world scenarios.
