I always do appreciate a written description of any character, regardless of if they're a PC or NPC (again, due to my eyes). But, I also like pictures. So, if I can be selfish, I'd want to have both if possible, but if that's not an option - and knowing how frustrating it can be to find pics that fit with what you want and envision - I'd say I'm totally fine with [i]just[/i] text descriptors too.
