Would a Hero/Villain with a reaaaally good PR team be able to sweep some... [i]youthful indiscretions[/i] under the rug or get them hidden from view? I was kind of thinking of a character who physically very strongly resembles a (retired or otherwise removed from the picture) previous Hero/Villain who is/was pretty specifically hiding their face in their persona because of the obvious implications of such a strong resemblance.
