Or as she is better known as, Fighting Kath. A nickname she earned early in her MMA career. Despite being busy with training, practicing, and travelling around for matches. Katherine would always send what free time she had with Leo, and Leo would live with his grandparents when his mother was out of town before he was old enough to take care of himself. Which his mother would take the time to train him on how to fight and defend himself. Growing up, Leo would wonder who his father was, and his mother's response was always. You will find out when you are older. A reply that at first he did not like, but grew to respect since his mother was adamant on the issue. So, Leo dropped the issue, but it still lingered in his mind. But one problem that arose while growing up was his emotions. For he had some problems dealing with them and was temperamental. The first time it caused problems was when Leo accidentally caused a fight between him and another student. He would win, and he would get in trouble. This starts a series of fights and disagreements that, while Leo was a good student. It hindered his academic and social life. Leo, hating this, got help from his mother and learned to rein in his emotions and not let them control him. Creating a sense of peace for him, and his life started to improve. Then came that faithful day when Leo would get ambushed by a group of bullies from his high school. Outnumbered, Leo should have lost, but somehow managed to overpower them and fight back. Winning the fight and leaving the bullies on the ground. But he noticed how he should have lost and how much he hurt the bullies. Leo realized he was stronger than he thought and quickly returned home. After talking about it to his mother, Katherine said it was time for him to find out who his father was. Now, when Katherine told him the truth, he was confused, as he thought it was a joke and questioned why his mother could make such a joke like that. Then, as if by queue. Ares appeared behind him, and Leo turned to see the truth right in front of him. Speechless at first, it would start Leo's relationship with his father. However, that relationship was not a good or healthy one. As Ares, while proud that his son was strong and fought like his mother. He wished that Leo would let his emotions, mainly his anger, out so he could be a true warrior on the battlefield. Which started a series of disagreements that led to arguments, and when Ares said that, Kathrine raised a cowardly man. Leo lost it and, for the first time in years, he lost control. Yes, Leo had no chance against his father, a god. But Leo did not care, and after the ensuing quick fight, Ares nearly choked Leo out. Ares would disappear, and Leo was left on the ground to be tended by his mother. Leo never saw or heard from Ares after that and tried to live his life his way. Bitterly hating Ares and wanting nothing to do with him. For two years, he and his mother were free from him until one day, Ares sent a message to him that he should go to Camp Athens for his safety, and at first, Leo was content to ignore this. But, his mother thought otherwise and convinced him to go since it may be good for him to spend time with other people like him, and if there is danger out there, that a god sent him a warning about being safe. Then he should go, but not for Ares but for her sake. So Leo made the journey to Camp Athens, not knowing what to expect and hoping that Ares would never appear to him. Despite being bullied by some when they learned of her mother's job. Sofia stayed loyal to her mom, more so when she learned that, unlike some who are fake and seek to profit off of people. Lydia was genuine in her goal of helping people her way, and she taught Sofia what she knew since it interested her some. Now, Sofia, growing up, was known for being a happy-go-lucky type of gal. Nothing seemed to bring her down, and she tended to be full of life wherever she went. Always cracking jokes and having a smile on her face. Which led to people not seeing someone who did not have a bad bone in her body, and not a fighter. This belief was proved false when one day, Sofia befriended a new student, and when a group of bullies surrounded her friend and harassed her. Sofia sprang into action, and with unexpected vigor. Driving the bullies away and showing that this happy girl had teeth. Around the time that Sofia was sixteen, she started to hear the whispers. Voices that were seemingly on the edge of her hearing. She thought she was going insane until she told her mother about it, and Lydia had a hunch of what it was. So, Lydia, in turn, helped to deal with the voices as Sofia learned it was the whisperers of the dead. Seeking to talk to her, Sofia asked if this was because Lyida was a spirit medium. Lydia said it was something else, her father, but did not wish to speak of this further, despite Sofia's determined questions. The topic would not come up again for four years until Lydia was killed in a car accident, and after she was buried. Sofia would hear her mother's voice in the whispers and knew she wished to talk to her. So, copying what her mother does, she did a ritual, and soon enough. Her mother's ghostly visage appeared before her. Lydia told her several things, the most important part of which it turned out. Lydia was trying to protect her from her father since she had received information during one of her sessions. That her father, Hades, had done terrible things and feared for her safety, warning her to stay away from him and not to trust him if he were ever to approach her. Sofia did not know what to say at the revelation. The last thing her mother told her before she left was that she should head to Camp Athens. For now that she was dead, there was nothing stopping Hades from appearing to her, and she should be safe there. So Sofia listened to her mother, packed up her things, and headed to Camp Athens. Hoping to be safe from her father and learn more about her powers. Plus, while her reason for coming to camp was a sad one. She is eager to meet with her fellow demigods, and who knows?
