After a certain event, it was easy for her to ‘lose it’, but now she’s working hard to control her emotions now after recent campus events, with mixed results. Aerokinesis Ability to control the wind. Iliana has the least amount of control over this skill, but is undergoing training for it. Induce Hunger Iliana least used ability, she's only used it twice in her life, once on the robber who killed her father and the other time on the scientist who experimented on her. Recently she focused more on making products and healing tonics for other campers, especially after training sessions. Open Hearted Being an empathetic person, Iliana has always worn her heart on her sleeve. While certain experiences have changed her (for better or worse), she still tries to be nice but is more wary now. She now has a medallion from her mother that controls it until she’s strong enough to control it on her own. Rebellious Iliana used to be totally dependent on others, but after spending several months at camp, she has changed and now wants to do things away from Heath, much to his dismay. It has led to a bit of friction between them, although Iliana still loves him dearly. Cooking One would think since Iliana is great at growing things, she’d be good at cooking. Unfortunately, this is not the case as Iliana is terrible at cooking. She once started a fire while using a toaster. Only thing she knows how to make is a salad. As a result, she hardly eats meat since she feels that since she can’t cook it, she shouldn’t eat it, unless someone else does the cooking. Iliana’s father, Carter Remington, was a philanthropist and traveled a lot to make sure to help those less fortunate then him. He's originally from Atlanta, Georgia. It was this kind personality that attracted the attention of Demeter. Carter, a romantic at heart, quickly fell for her and it didn’t take long for the two to get together, but not before Demeter revealed her divine nature to him. He was dumbfounded at first but after seeing what she could do, did believe her. Soon though Demeter had to leave for a bit and Carter didn’t see her for months, so one could imagine how shocked he was when Demeter suddenly appeared with a newborn baby and supplied Carter with everything he needed to take care of his daughter. He ended up doting on Iliana, and moved back to Atlanta with her, but when she was only a child a robber invaded their home, killing Iliana’s father in the process, which awoken her powers and she unknowingly takes out her father’s killer. Demeter takes Iliana to her domain to recover for a few weeks, but then ends up getting advice from Athena to drop off Iliana with her son’s family in Scotland to be raised. Heath’s father adopts Iliana and the two become close. Everything is fine until Iliana enters her college years. She ends up getting kidnapped and experimented on after someone sees her using her abilities (she used to be careful). Demeter and other gods rescue her, but the experience leaves Iliana traumatized and she couldn’t speak after it. It’s not long after this that she goes to the camp with Heath and his friend Ethan. The events there change Iliana for the better where she is forced to confront her past. Another camper, Lochlan, gets her to talk again (she never knew he used his powers on her). While she was sad to see Ethan and others leave, she was more heartbroken by those who didn’t make it after the Pandora Box incident. Wanting to be more independent, she gets her own cabin, instead of sharing one with Heath. She is still trying to find a new purpose in life and at the camp. Battle Strategy Heath is great at strategy. However, when it comes to battle strategy, he’s still a novice, but wants to get better with this skill due to high expectations of being Athena’s son. Intangibility Recently Heath had a fear of using this ability because he tried using it without assistance and got stuck. Due to recent events with the Pandora’s Box incident, he got over this fear, but will only use it when he needs to since he’s still working on it. Perceptive Being the observer that he is, he’s learned to taken in as much information on a situation as possible before making any judgements. However, he can get a little tunnel vision when his sister, Iliana, is concerned. Endurance Heath is a long-distance runner, so it’s taught him perseverance. He will never give up. Even though he likes taking his time deciding, once he makes it, it’s unlikely he’ll change it. Protective Heath is very protective of those he cares about. This goes double for his adoptive sister. However in recent months, she’s started to do more things on her own and while he’s happy, he still keeps an eye on her, much to her frustration. He doesn’t know how to handle that since he was always told by his father to keep an eye on her. Perfectionist Due to his love for things to be in order, Heath has high standards for himself to get things right all the time, even to others to some extent if he knows what they are capable of. He’s his own worst critic as a result though. Athena, being the practical goddess she was, ended up Heath’s father, Iain Taylor, for two major reasons, one- he was a very studious man and two- he came from a family that was into different means of metaphysics, even though he never did any of those practices himself due to having different interests. In fact, he was a teacher at the local high school. Iain was caught off guard by Athena, even without knowing her divinity. Being a master strategist, she got to know his family first, which was important to him and revealed herself to his older sisters first to get their assistance after deciding she wanted Iain to help her have a child since the man had a hard time courting women. All her planning worked and eventually she gave birth to Heath. By then Iain had learned who she was, and the entire family sworn to secrecy about Heath’s lineage. Even though Heath learned about his mother at an early age, he would rarely see her throughout his life due to how busy she was. It became evident how smart he was and was labeled a genius at an early age. He was very thirsty for knowledge and his father ended up hiring private tutors because of his skills advancing beyond the normal school limit. He did prefer this too so he could spend time with his newly adopted sister, Iliana. He was 8 when she moved in and became very protective of her quickly when he learned she had no father and her mother, Demeter, couldn’t raise her on her own due her own duties. Despite his intelligence, he still made plenty of mistakes, one almost costing his life when as a teen he tried practicing intangibility without Athena’s assistance and got stuck. He would have died if Athena didn’t save him after feeling his distress. It was one of the rare few times she scolded him and he never forgot it since then. Heath’s schooling raced by and he had already graduated college with a Masters in English by the time he was 18. Deciding to write for a living, he moved out of his father’s place. It was during this time when fellow demigod, Ethan Knox, moved in with him. Ethan wanted to study abroad and Hestia recommended he move in with another demigod. Both young men were close in age with only Heath older by 5 months. Heath was a bit quiet around Ethan at first but did slowly warm up to him. This all changed when they got word on what happened to Iliana. Heath himself nearly lost it, but Ethan helped him calm down and they help Iliana get through her trauma. This experience makes the to men even closer and now Heath views Ethan as a brother. At the camp, not much changed with Heath until Iliana had to relieve her traumatic experiences. Heath never knew exactly what happened to her, so watching it had a major effect on him. He is shocked when Iliana regains her voice too and has no clue someone was responsible for it. The other major event that affects him is the Pandora’s Box incident which results in his friend, Ethan, leaving the camp since he felt he wasn’t needed at the camp anymore since his only reason for coming to camp was to help Heath support Iliana, but she clearly doesn’t need the assistance anymore. His last words to Heath were to not go overboard and to let Iliana do her own thing. This has been easier said than done unfortunately. He did give Ethan permission to still stay at his place since he wanted to continue his studies in Scotland. Short distance teleportation Nelly uses this in tandem with her super speed and has used it to get out of tight situations. She doesn’t use it as a crutch though. Cloning This is her newest ability. She can’t clone people but can clone small items. She hardly uses this skill though because she doesn’t have much use of this skill yet. Her primary focus is documentary photography, and her photos are starting to get recognition. She has taken a lot of pictures of camp but has already decided to never release them to the public, instead is making a scrapbook of them. Independent Very self-sufficient, she loves doing things on her own. She can fit into any kind of environment and know how to survive in the wild too. Clever Ever the quick learner, Nelly has been able to adapt to different situations because of this trait. She’s been known to make quick decisions on the fly. [hr][hr] [color=#F1724B]Weaknesses[/color] Curiosity Always too curious for her own good, Nelly has the tendency to get into plenty of trouble with her thirst to know what is happening around her. She managed to anger a few campers when she first arrived due to her curious nature. Dense Nelly is smart, but in the social department, she’s lacking, especially in the romance department. She was clueless in 7 Minutes in Heaven event. Still she’s learning. Nuts Nelly has a nut allergy. She discovered this as a child when she once ate peanut butter, and her reaction almost killed her, luckily Hermes intervened in time. [hr][hr] [color=#F1724B]Personality[/color] Curious ~ Self-Reliant ~ Quirky ~ Jokester [hr][hr] [color=#F1724B]History[/color] Nelly’s mother, Linda, was a journalist who traveled a lot. It was during a vacation in Greece did she meet Hermes. Hermes was smitten with her mother right away due to her red hair and flirtatious nature. They only had a one-night stand deal since neither were the type to make a commitment. What Linda wasn’t expecting though was their hook up to result in her getting pregnant, especially since she was on the pill. She never knew Hermes was a god either. Still she was determined to raise Nelly on her own. Nelly was born in Greece (hence why she got a Greek name) but was raised in her mother’s home state of Louisiana. However, her speed ability appeared when she was just a kid, and it concerned her mother. While she didn’t understand what was up with her daughter, she didn’t question it either since she had the belief that some things could never be explained logically. But to protect her daughter though, they started traveling frequently when Nelly was 6. It was around this time though that Nelly discovered her nut allergy, and it almost cost her life. Hermes intervened in time with Apollo in tow. Up to this point, Nelly didn’t care that she didn’t have a father since her mother was always honest with her. She was genuinely surprised when Hermes did come into her life. Even though Hermes wasn’t known for his honesty, he ended up revealing his divine nature to both Linda and Nelly, especially since Linda directly asked him if he knew what was happening with Nelly. It was also at this point that Nelly got her nickname, for it was given to her by Hermes. She liked it so much that she refused to be called by her birth name, Penelope. Only her mother was allowed to say it. Nelly was an active kid and loved discovering new things. Sometimes this resulted in her getting into trouble and this was how she busted her front two teeth when she was only 9. After her accident, she did her best to be more cautious, at least when it came to her physical safety. She soon started developing her abilities as she grew older and Hermes came around more often to help her hone them. By the time she was 18, she moved out on her own. Even though she only got a GED, she was able to take care of herself through odd jobs and making money off her pictures. She always loved photography, thanks to her mother’s influence, and became very proficient at it. She’s now made enough money to afford her own place, but has recently decided to check out Camp Athens, and it’s not just because of her father’s request either. Not all that much happened to Nelly at the camp. She has bumped heads with a few of the campers but has gotten along with a few too. After Pandora’s Box incident, she was determined to stay and see this through, but still plans on having a good time.
