Not even the stars are safe in the sky."[/sup]

After years spent travelling the globe and selling her assassin skills to the highest bidder, Elektra Natchios has returned to where it all began: New York City. The daughter of a wealthy Greek ambassador, Elektra's perfect life was upended when a hostage situation took the life of her father. Seeking to channel her grief into something more, Elektra joined The Chaste, a mystic group of warriors. However, she was soon expelled from the group because of her inability to let go of her dark and violent impulses. This led her into the clutches of the malevolent ninja order The Hand, who harnessed the darkness within her and created the perfect killing machine. Her prowess earned her the attention of the Kingpin, who hired her as his top assassin. This brought her into opposition with the masked adventurer Daredevil, who was also her former lover Matt Murdock. The two would eventually reconcile, but tragedy would strike yet again when Elektra was brutally slain by the Kingpin's former top assassin Bullseye. The Hand resurrected her and sought to enslave her, but Daredevil's intervention allowed her to escape. But The Hand's impurity ran deep within Elektra's soul, putting her back on the path of the assassin. It was only by a chance encounter with her former mentor Stick that Elektra made the choice to journey back to New York. She returns as a woman seeking atonement and redemption for her past. Stick saw the good inside her, dim but fighting its way to the surface. Now it's her turn to see it and bring it into the light.

[SUP][SUB]
C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Elektra is a badass Greek ninja who deals with an inner conflict as formidable as any of her outer conflicts. Her father's death created a void in her soul that she's filled with dark and violent impulses. But there still remains a light, a part of her that wants to do good and prove that she's more than the circumstances that created her. I want to do my favorite Marvel heroine justice and write some cool stories of her kicking butt. I also want to write about Elektra rising from a hyper aggresive vigilante to a true hero, and that's something that will be a lot of fun to accomplish not just with her supporting cast, but with the other heroes of New York City at large. She'll make mistakes, be tempted and even fall into her old ways, but the journey into the light isn't one she'll be taking alone. And obviously, another big goal is writing epic team-ups with everyone!

[SUP][SUB]
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Peak Human Attributes: Elektra's rigorous training with The Hand have granted her levels of strength, stamina, speed and durability only the upper echeleon of humans can attain. The sunlight that the criminal element feared was no longer in the equation, allowing for its evil to thrive. On the Lower East Side of Manhattan, a trenchcoat clad Elektra stood in the alleyway between two buildings, the one on her right appearing to be a regular auto shop. But thanks to Detective Morrisey's informant, the true purpose of the building was no mystery. It was a chop shop, one of many in the criminal sphere of Manhattan. And tonight, it was Elektra's task to shut down the operation. A squadron of police officers could have done the trick, but this was Manhattan. There was no telling who was on the Kingpin's payroll and would alert the shop of the raid. Brown eyes glanced upwards to the perfectly good fire escape attached to the building next to the shop. Elektra discarded her coat, exposing her red costume to the night. With practiced ease, she first jumped atop a dumpster before leaping towards the low hanging ladder of the fire escape. Scaling her way up to the stairs, the heroine ascended as high as she could, which put her one more leap away from her target's rooftop. Balancing herself on the railing, the vigilante launched herself forward, catching the ledge and pulling herself onto the roof. As she locked onto the building's skylight, her point of entry, the surge of adrenaline that came before any fight coursed through her. Making her way over, she looked down and analyzed the interior. She was directly above two men who were hard at work liberating precious materials from a sleek looking blue car. If she landed on the roof of the car, the landing was possible. Gently, she tilted the glass pane upwards, took a deep breath, then descended upon her prey. Elektra landed on the roof of the car with bent knees to soften her landing. The criminals breaking down the automobile stumbled backwards in shock. "Jesus Christ!" A scruffy looking man in a black apron exclaimed. Refusing to waste the surprise her sudden entrance brought, Elektra jumped from the roof to the hood and springboarded towards the thug, putting him out of commission with a flying dropkick. He stumbled backwards into a workbench before falling to the ground in a heap. Rolling her body backwards and planting her hands on the ground, Elektra performed a kip up and sprung back to her feet. All around her, the formerly stupefied thugs were coming to their senses and surrounding the heroine. "Don't know what the hell you're doing here, but we're gonna teach you a lesson in private property, bitch!" A bald man in a wifebeater declared confidently. Elektra was too consumed in scanning her surroundings to point out the irony in his statement. It was five to one, three in front of her and two behind her. but the numbers disadvantage failed to faze her. This wasn't the carjacking of an unsuspecting tourist. In response to the comment, Elektra brought her hands to the sides of her thighs, withdrawing her sais with a flourish. Twirling her weapons between her fingers, she shifted her left hand's grip so the blunt end faced outwards. A hoodlum gulped uncomfortably at the sight of her arming herself. With her right hand, she tilted the pointed end towards herself in a beckoning gesture. One of the thugs in front of her was more than happy to accept her invitation. Grabbing a tire iron off the ground and advancing on her, he raised his arm up and brought it down upon his target. Elektra raised her right hand out and caught the weapon between the guard and the blade, gaining control of his weapon. Twisting her hand, she forced him to lower his weapon before striking with her left sai, smashing the blunt end just under his chin. The thug's head snapped back, his brain bouncing against the cage that was his skull and taking him out of the fight. Suddenly, a burly arm wrapped around her neck, putting her in a chokehold. "Hold her still, hold her still!" A thug in front of him commanded excitedly, cocking his meaty fist back. Instinctively, Elektra shifted her grip on both sais and plunged the tips nto the sides of her captor's thighs. A howl of pain filled the air, the thug releasing Elektra in his moment of pain. Thankfully, the man was put out of his misery by his companion, whose right hook was avoided by a ducking Elektra and instead socked his comrade. The time spent gawking at his folly was enough for Elektra to return fire, the blunt end of her right sai digging into the assailant's gut. Doubling over and clutching his stomach, it was all too easy to put her hands over his head and bring her knee charging into his face. Whipping back around to face the other man she knew was behind her, Elektra quickly raised her hand up to deflect a jab before giving the thug the same sai to the head treatment as the first man. Now, there were only two combatants left standing. Considering the distance between them, Elektra flipped her sai, caught it on the tip, and spun around to face him. To her faint delight, not only was he the original loud mouthed thug, but she had also caught him just as he was reaching under his tank top for what was most likely a pistol. Elektra herself was poised to toss her sai at him, arm bent back. All she needed to do was flick her hand forward. This man was a direct threat to her life. One that should be neutralized, immediately. She was too far away for an incapacitating attack. One flick. That was all it would take to skewer the would-be gunman where he stood. But this was a different time. "Surrender." Elektra heard herself say, paying very close attention to her foe's body language. "Trust me, I have the quicker hand. And these sais hurt." For some time, the only noise in the chop shop was the quiet muttering and cursing of the criminal. Finally, his hand moved from his pants and into the air. "Dammit, alright, lady! You win!" Sai still trained on him, Elektra broke the distance and relieved the thug of his weapon. The faint whining of police sirens suddenly breached the air. Her signal to disappear. By the time the authorities stormed the building, the criminals had been tied up in spare chains and Elektra was gone. She watched the bust going down from a distance, behind the cover of another nearby building. her act of mercy fresh on her mind. It wasn't much at all, but every action was a step forward. With that acknowledged, she stepped into the shadow of the structure and disappeared.
