Duke's mother died when he was very young. Having known about the sceptics and little witchhunt for her for laying with an abnormal presence, she passed him onto the care of her sister.

With his aunt, Duke had to become the man of the house at a young age, and it wasn't just something he felt he had to do but something he was relied on and expected to do. His aunt worked as an exotic dancer to keep a steady income and fell pregnant with twins to a deadbeat father. Then, she fell into the influence of drugs because of stress and a lack of worth. Her addiction and income kept them barely afloat and some days she'd bring men over. Whether that was for bonus income or something else to relieve and forget the stress, he didn't know and he didn't want to know. Duke had to promote himself to bodyguard, carer to his cousins and financial keeper. The duties of a man were something he had to quickly take up.

He had high moral of discipline and respect to his single, busy aunt so followed any order she gave like an obedient dog. She needed what help she could get. Besides, she was always a little jumpy and worried outside her job, and as time grew, feared Duke's judgement. But he never did judge her, only hated that she had to return to her job where there was constant risk of low-lives and fanatics creeping on her with hungry eyes and touches. All the peace and discipline of a good solider went out the window when she returned with bruises and cuts and a tremor one night. He begged and pleaded for her to tell him who did it to her, but she didn't supply that information. Not because she couldn't confide in him but because she knew his true heritage and didn't want him being exposed.

Her little plan fell apart relatively quickly when Duke did some digging and found the assailant. In the moment, Duke couldn't help himself and set him ablaze where the man was quickly extinguished and hospitalized. When doom and exposure seemed afoot, then and only then did camp come up.

Mason grew up as a bomb just waiting to destroy everything in his path. His mother didn't try to conceal who his father was, what his heritage was. She was always upfront and honest but was never concerned for what dark trail he might walk. Hades too had no problem showing himself off and taking him to the Underworld when he felt like it, feigning interest in how his day has been, what happened at school, all to see if Mason could be the prodigy he wanted and embrace his powers. So an innocent boy turned into a teen with an ego, powers of the God coursing through his veins; a little dark and a little mysterious and handsome. He lapped up the attention though he could be cold and dismissive to people that didn't interest him. That cold nature amplified due to many losses of anyone he grew a warm heart for. Eventually, he decided three separate occasions were enough to quit trying to appease others or play into humanity.

The first instance was when he touched his girlfriend, leaning in for a tender kiss, and what was meant to be an affectionate act when his lips met hers, turned out the coldest act, as his first kill. From there started a spiral of emotions and the haunting memory that he couldn't recover from. His mother tried to shake him out of his depression, playing the best comfort and support she could and get him back on his feet. Just as he started to take her words in and let the tragedy fade to the background, and trust himself again, he wrapped his mother up in a hug in appreciation for her efforts and tolerance only for her to die in his arms.
The third was deliberate. Cold and deliberate with little regret. He still had his mortal sister, Rebecca, but after her boyfriend impregnated her with a child, he decided to cheat. After all the innocents Mason had taken, and girls he were fond of, he decided to do his own justice. Why should they die and he live? So with a grip on his upper arm and mock friendly smile, Rebecca's boyfriend drew his last breaths.

Hades expressed pride and comfort in one and it tightened their bond. So much so that Mason let Hades persuade him to attending a special camp with his older sister, Jennova. He had always stuck to the shadows, practiced his "dark powers" while Zeus's child absorbed the light, but Jennova was his sanity. His only means of company, acceptance and slither of humanity and blood and assurance. She was a reminder he wasn't damned and he was never alone. That there was someone out there that fully understood what he was going through. Then came another one of Zeus's self-righteous children and she decided to execute Jennova. Behead her in fact while Mason was tracking an older-demigod for the war. Mason didn't need more reason to be so hateful and cold but Alex gave him that. Mason responded by trying to claim Alex's life, but too many do-gooders were around to get the job done.

Seemingly at the worst time, after the war and death of a friend, Hades called upon Mason to join him in the Underworld. Take refuge and power, learn the chores of ruling the Underworld. Mason knew it was the best place for him to be so abandoned the camp and its dramas. In the Underworld Hades spent his time rewiring Mason to forget about worrying how the people above were doing and reinforced to prioritize himself. Hades taught him to be cold at the core and put on a show for others, but never lie, simply debrief. Hades taught him the wonders and great potential of his abilities.

Daniel is older brother to a mortal sister Delilah and another demigod he only met last year, Andromeda. Thankfully, Daniel was always a strapping young man who was quick on his toes so he felt and feels relatively equipped to handle young women and different personalities and hormones. Having Zane as a father, he always encouraged a light environment and an appreciation for wit and jokes in good taste. But also embedded Daniel with morals and values, hence he has a super soft spot for his sisters and a somewhat intact moral compass despite his love for chaos.

Mainly Daniel grew up treating life as his playing field and people and his powers were a source of entertainment. Each day, he'd push the boundaries just a little bit further. This got him into a lot of trouble and made him feared among peers. There was no way folks believed in magic, but they did find Daniel as the common thread to the extraordinary. Through the commotion of powers, Zane persisted on sticking with him and keeping Daniel balanced. This in turn developed to a deep respect making Daniel, luckily, not a total brat growing up.

Then along came his introduction to camp. He took off with his powers in full swing in a world where they were semi-tolerated (subject to individuals) and loved camp. For the most part. Except the heartbreak and romance and episodes of pain, there was also a major attack on camp.

Hecate's magic brought Daniel back to life, but not as his upbeat, fun loving self. When she revived him, she filled him with false memories and therefore a new identity to protect him from the trauma of his death. And so Keith Madden was born with a constant hole in his heart, like a piece of him is missing. The recollection of the war was hard to recall. He knew he was there last year, and there was a war but it had no meaning, no image and his life was full of gaps. Until he was able to get himself back.

Despite being a child conceived out of literal deception and having a dad that had minimal involvement in the kids' life, with (he suspects) some special resentment on the side reserved for Lochlan, his childhood was easy street. Everything given to him on a platter and not just because of the wealthy lifestyle he was born into but because of his abilities. Fellow kids were easy to twist and make suggestions to, like giving over toys, getting out of HIS sandpit, keeping this bigger kid from winning in sports or stop him from beating Loc up. His half-sister, offspring to Athena, Blair, fortified the golden boy attitude combining her abilities with his own in the schoolyard making them a pair that ruled. As his body grew, his powers did, along with his wants. The new equivalent of toys became girls and stirring such emotions was way too satisfying. His playing around did earn him a few solid pushes up against lockers, promises to meet outside and knock teeth out, paint his face black and blue, so that was some solid motivation for him to get in shape and become agile and slick. It's not all just for looks.

The thing about being Hera's spawn was he was always wanting what he couldn't have, striving for more, and more problematically, because of a green monster, what others had. Lochlan came out on top but not always by fair means. Winning and getting all the time was certainly nice, but even that got tiresome to a degree, predicting outcomes or certainly being able to shape them. Eventually, he settled down and was under the influence of a genuine relationship. They were going steady, things were looking good then Hera sabotaged that in a truly wicked manner; cloaking a girl to look alike his girlfriend and taint her mind with desire for him, leading Loc to cheat. But being caught in bed with another woman with a reputation of being a womanizer and liar, claiming he thought it was her obviously didn't bode well...
If Hera couldn't be happy in love, he certainly couldn't. However, her involvement remains unconvicted.

After that burn was as digested as it could get, Lochlan returned to his old ways. And to love and commit, would only end in disappointment. As his habits continued, a sudden curveball was thrown his way when their dad gave an ultimatum. Military school or some special camp. Though the dilemma was his, Blair chose the camp for the both of them. He's not sure if he should expect something still military-like or what. But as long as he's got Blair with him.
