Joel is quiet, gentle, and deeply empathetic. He feels things strongly and often picks up on emotions others miss, but struggles to express his own. He prefers to show how he’s feeling through drawing or writing. He values deep, honest connection but worries he’s too much or not enough for people to truly stay.

Despite his soft nature, Joel is resilient. He’s been through loss and rejection, but still shows up for others with care and patience. He tends to put others’ needs before his own and overthinks everything, often at the cost of his confidence.

[b]Short Bio:[/b] Joel Holloway grew up in the shadow of his older brother Adrian, a perfect student athlete who tragically passed away. His grieving parents placed impossible expectations on Joel to follow in his brother’s footsteps, but it quickly became clear that Joel wasn’t like his brother at all.

He became quiet and withdrawn. Only expressing himself through art that he didn’t share with anyone. He fell in love with a boy in his class. For a moment, it felt like life might have meaning again. Until he worked up the nerve to tell the boy how he felt. And the boy told everyone else.

The fallout was humiliating. There was laughter, gossip, name calling. His parents weren’t homophobic, but they weren’t supportive either. Telling him “maybe don’t tell people everything, sweetheart.”

The invitation to the Hawaiian resort seemed like a miracle. A chance to get away from his problems for a while. He accepted without hesitation, hoping to breathe again.
