When the younger woman brought up the idea of going next door, Michael thought about her proposition for a moment. It wasn’t a bad plan by any means, as a vehicle would at least get them partway to the cordon. Logically it couldn’t take them all the way; the highway was going to be a nightmare to traverse unless the army was kind enough to clear it. There was only two problems he had with that plan. The first was if there wasn’t a functional vehicle. He wasn’t familiar with that building, so he didn’t know how well-used the garage was, but it made sense that there’d be parts to fix a car that could be acquired, even if they needed to be removed by a younger person with a crowbar or wire cutters first. After a few moments, the older man nodded. There was exactly one other objection he had left, which he’d solve himself. “Seems doable. Won’t do to have y’all get yourself killed and leave us stranded, though.” Michael stated, as he straightened his shoulders a bit and looked the young woman square in the face.
