Besides a pleasingly mangled Oros, Acid Drop and Earthshaker also trailed behind the club president, the latter looking almost as beat up as the pink-haired pervert. With an annoyed groan, the Neon Tempest fell in beside her partner, the action prompted more by her concern for Roche than any respect for their leader’s command. “The fuck happened to you?” she asked in a low voice so the other members of their little “procession” wouldn’t hear. “I thought you’d be able to take that giant fucker’s punches without breaking a sweat.” Then again, maybe it was the corrosive vomit that had caused most of the Rule Keeper’s injuries. Nyxia had assumed that her partner’s ability to absorb damage would extend even to that, but if she’d learned anything from fighting these so-called “Giga Miseria” it was that they seemed to exist to defy expectations. Once the entire detention club had reunited, Rei proceeded to give another of her annoying speeches, its main point being how absolutely fucking amazing she was, and that they were all nothing without her. Oh, and apparently the new light girl was now an honorary club member? Well, that wasn’t really surprising either, Nyxia reflected. Rei was such a massive control freak that any solo light girls who were new to town would be placed under the aegis of her club in short order. For her part, the Neon Tempest didn’t really care much about such things, although she had to admit, this new girl was pretty cool, and pleasingly devoid of the nauseatingly self-righteous attitude displayed by most of the light girls she’d encountered. Nor did the armored young woman seem afflicted with any of the unpleasant, or flat out disgusting, traits most of her fellow club members possessed. Maybe, just maybe, this girl might actually be a suitable candidate for her second friend…
