Eli Reyes/Spellbound Location: Bank When Liberty Son spoke to him, Eli opened his mouth to say something, then shut it again. What was the protocol? Cool nod? Finger guns? A witty line? “Uh—y-yeah! Totally. That was… wow. Very cool,” he managed, his voice cracking halfway through. Then PyroJack went down, hard, and Eli stumbled back a step as the little guy popped up and demanded to know who got the first hit in. Eli hesitated, hand halfway raised. “I mean… I shot lightning at him? But I think someone or something else might have hit him first… Maybe…” Right on cue, a tiny drone buzzed up, and Interference’s voice cut in. Eli got startled so hard he nearly zapped the bug out of the air. His hand sparked instinctively before he caught himself. “Oh,” he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. “Right. Talking drones. Totally normal.” He looked toward the window across the street and spotted the white-masked woman waving casually like this was a casual meet up between friends, instead of a scorched bank lobby and a crime scene. “Um… nice to meet all of you. I’m Eli… Uh… Spellbound! Sorry, first day on the job.” He gave a nervous smile and a thumbs up, then immediately regretted the thumbs up.
