I agree. I understand wanting to have a weird or quirky character but sleeping in a tree in the middle of winter will only end in death. Marlen could intentionally choose the most run down looking cabin or something. 

A child of Apollo has no magical means to survive in that. And like Qia said, the Gods would definitely find it as a sign of disrespect dying in the cold of the night rather than sleeping in an available cabin.
